In the heart of Gurgaon lies the lush green campus of MDI Gurgaon. Even on a scorching summer afternoon, there is ample shade on the sidewalks. In fact the first thing one notices after entering the campus, are the trees on either side of the road. There are a lot of open spaces too. The small golf course on campus is ideal for strolling in the early morning.
Home to over 600 students, MDI is always bustling with activity. A typical day in MDI Gurgaon is fast paced, hectic and yet a lot of fun. Juggling between classes, assignments, case studies and extra-curricular activities becomes a routine. After slogging through the day and finishing the assigned tasks before the deadline at midnight, people often decide to sit back and relax at Sharmaji’s canteen. It can be said that MDI never sleeps as there will be a bunch of people at Sharmaji’s canteen at any given time of the day.
The hostels are the best part of MDI Gurgaon. On most evenings there is chaos inside the hostels because of the assignment deadlines. It is during this chaos that people interact and bond with each other. The tables dining halls in the evening are usually occupied by different groups brainstorming on their respective assignments. There are serious times and moments of laughter. However, after the submissions are done, there is instant calmness and people get to socialise. One might even go for a walk around the campus. But the calmness doesn’t last for very long as one has to wake up early in the morning for classes.
Imagine a large number of students from all parts of the country, with varying levels of experience and a wide range of skills coming together and participating in one activity. This is exactly what happens in the classrooms of MDI. The learning here is immense and this makes every activity interesting and every class different. Despite all the hard work, life in MDI is very eventful and enjoyable. Being surrounded by batch-mates for the entirety of two years brings people closer and nurtures lifelong friendships. Being a part of MDI is truly a magical experience.
