Journey to the campus of dreams started the day I received my offer letter, it was a mixed feeling of anxiety and euphoria. Packed with dreams, I travelled throughout the length of the country, reaching the place, where I am going to embark on a journey to my future. I still remember my first sight of entering the campus, a lush green abode of learning in the midst of a concrete jungle, away from all the hustle and bustle of the city of Gurgaon. The yellow city (due to the thick sheet of pollution in the sky) turns green inside the campus, and so do the people. I can now proudly say that I am a part of a mini ecosystem that evolves continuously and that ecosystem is none other than my MDI.
MDI for us is a home, a home to 700 students and a campus that never sleeps. You will always find people at one place or another at any point of time, either working or involved in various other activities. This campus, my campus, has a mini golf course. How often, do you come across a campus that has its own golf course? MDI provides a multitude of facilities, a plush gym, sporting facilities, multitudes of canteens and many more.
A typical day at MDI involves juggling between classes, working on assignments, pre readings, analyzing case studies, participating in clubs and committees, debates and discussions, extra-curricular activities etc. With so many activities and tasks to perform, the best a campus can offer is serenity. A walk through the picturesque roads, covered with trees on either side, at the middle of the night offers you the calmness and refreshment you desire.
The best thing that differentiates MDI from other b-schools is the KOK (King of Kings) that takes place within a month into the program, which is inter-section sporting event (we call it section wars), this event has the ability to bring people together and bond them within a few days, without which it takes months to interact and develop those kinds of bonds. These bonds are which we cherish for the rest of our lives. The rigor that MDI puts you through inculcates teamwork and develops you as a more holistic person, adaptable to every situation.

What are the few brands that I consider buying whenever I go on shopping? I look for Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly amongst other brands. These are the brands that have great brand value and have a greater appeal amongst the young working class and college students. Penchant towards marketing, in general, drive me to join Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, which is one of India’s leading fashion and retail seller. My previous experience with TCS, albeit in technology, will provide a good base.
