Aditya Birla Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate which has interests in viscose staple fibre, metals, cement ,viscose filament yarn, branded apparel, carbonblack, chemicals, fertilisers, insulators, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services. It operates in 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide and had a revenue of approximately US$44.3 billion in year 2018. Aditya Birla group has been a part of my life from the beginning and being associated with its brands like UltraTech cement, peter England etc has been an enriching experience for me. Since I cannot share all my experience, I would like to share one of my experiences. One of the most recent experience in which Aditya Birla Group played an important role is my cousin’s weeding. My cousin’s weeding comprises of various events and for every event I needed some different kind of apparel. Everyone tries to look best at a weeding, for which it’s necessary to be dressed well in a proper attire. But since I was busy preparing for my MBA entrance exam I was not able to go to individual stores and do my shopping. So I decided to visit pantaloons and I was able to get a lot of variety of cloths of all kind of attire under one roof. I was able to buy suits and shirts of peter England and Van Heusen, casual shirts and jeans of Louis Philippe . Thus because of Aditya Birla Group I was able to look at my best in the weeding. Challenges I Faced From a very early age I started helping my father in his business. He always used to teach me how proper management of things can be very fruitful for us. He used to show me examples, how by organizing a particular project in a certain he was able to save money and complete the task on time. This started fascinating me and I started getting quite interested in learning more about managing things. Though I got a basic knowledge of management from my father’s business, I wanted to learn more and therefore I decided to do an MBA. Doing an MBA from a good institute requires a good academics score throughout my life. But at that time, I was just an average scorer and struggled a lot in my academics. So, I took it upon me to work hard and score good marks in the exam. I stared giving my best to my studies and took guidance from my brother who had a great academics. Soon I started excelling and in fact topped in my class and soon the school. I got a certificate from our school principal for the best performance in the batch. However, it was not the end of my problems. The other challenge that I faced was communicating in English. Being from a city where English is rarely used, I was not very fluent in English. But in my interviews and group discussions I had to face challenge from the people who are fluent in English, therefore I started working on that. I started reading a lot, practicing in front of the mirror. I tried talking in English to as many people as possible. Though I fumbled many a times and many people made fun, I did not stop, I kept practicing and I was able to overcome it. Because of this practice I was able to improve my fluency and I was able to get into one of the best B-schools of the country.
