Not that we would wait for Woman's Day to celebrate the spirit and power of women on our management campuses, still we thought its good time to present some stories of women who have done it all. Meet Drishti Bhattarai from FMS Delhi Read on to find out more – 1. To start with, tell us your background. For many years it has been my ambition to work at an organization where I would not be faced with a glass ceiling as I move up the hierarchyand if I do I would have the strength to break through, and I have been diligently working towards this goal. I did my Undergraduate degree from St. Xavier’s College in Kathmandu, Nepal, thus completing 16 years of education in Nepal. Since my school days I have been active in clubs, societies and not-for-profit organizations, accepting various leadership and organizational roles along the way. I have been fortunate to work in fields as diverse as media and education & training, performing various tasks at differing levels. I have learnt to adjust and get along in a new environment with people from different cultural backgrounds, and look forward to much more learning yet to come. I believe that education is not only about books and knowledge but also about the process obtaining the education and about knowing to balance life, hence I am in India pursuing an MBA and learning in a new environment. 2. What makes you think that you stand out of the crowd? I will stand out in a crowd as a leader who is willing to take people forward, who can coordinate a team well enough to get best results out of it. I will stand out as an open minded person who welcomes positive change and governs herself with integrity. 3. What do you like the most about yourself? I enjoy little incidents and things in life, which makes life more enjoyable and I feel happy for these little reasons. This is what I like the most about myself. 4. If you were granted a wish by 'The Jinn', what would it be?  That one wish that I want the Jinn to fulfil is that I would like the people of the world to be more acceptable of one another and that they learn to co-exist better with the eco system. 5. How do you think doing an MBA has added value to your persona? I decided to continue with an MBA and not go on with a career, or a Masters program in Information Management because I wanted to be an entrepreneur but felt that I lacked the holistic view of the internal operation of an organization as well as the technical know-how of the different functions in it. In an MBA, I have not only started to look at an organization with a bird’s eye, but I have also learnt the skill of people management. MBA has taught me to work in a team, it has instilled in me the way to appreciate diversity. 6. If you were a leader, how will you make a difference? If I were a leader, I would be an inclusive leader, who is able to make every member from all walks of life feel that they belong here and move forward to achieve one goal with a lot of zeal. For this purpose I would ask representatives of the sub groups to take up leadership position so that a bond can be formed with every person individually with the help of the new leaders so that every single person feels connected and a part of the system.
