During the last year of engineering, I was one of the organizers of an event called BRIZINGER which was a 3-day state level technical festival organized by Government Engineering College- Rajkot in the year 2017. Firstly, I started with the data and found that there are fewer participants from the first year and also the footfall was too stagnant. So the key challenge was to increase the participants from the first year as well as to increase the footfall. After analyzing the data, I tried to find out the reason for this trend and found that our events were more on the technical side. So for resolving the challenge, I suggested to include non-technical events as well some managerial events as well. The rationale behind including the managerial events was that we had already captured all the engineering colleges in the region so I tried to tap the uncharted territories. Also, as for most of the educational institutes which are concerned with various competitive exams as well as skill development, I knew that this event will give the platform to advertise their products so we strategically decided to pitch differently to the sponsors by not asking for what do we want rather describing how they will benefit from the same. These all efforts increased footfall as well as sponsorship amount. The leanings which I got from this experience that, we have to look at the minute details of the tasks as well as we should identify the core competencies of every person in the team and distribute the task to optimize the time as well as resources.
