How one responds to challenges shapes our lives. Most of us face some or the other challenges in our day-to-day lives, how we respond to them defines who we are as an individual.
Recently I had gone for my first ever trek to the Dhauladhar ranges. The trek was supposed to be about 4 hours uphill with a similar duration for the downward journey. I started my trek at around 10:00 in the morning with me being a bundle of energy on a clear sunny day. Like a typical amateur I had packed my bag with loads of energy bars and water which were said to be of paramount importance during the trek. The upward climb was tiring but enjoyable because of the beauty and serenity of the path that I traversed. Soon after I reached the halfway point of my climb it started drizzling and I was trying to take shelter under a tree without much success. Many of my fellow trekkers who had prior experience in trekking bought out their raincoats as they were aware that weather on mountain tops are very fickle and cannot be relied upon. At this stage as I was contemplating on trekking back to base as continuing with the journey on a rainy day would be extremely difficult and dangerous for a novice like me, I received a call from my friend who could not accompany me on the trip. That call made me realize that not everyone gets an opportunity to do the same and that the satisfaction attained is much more depending upon the challenges and the difficulties that we overcome in our journey. With this thought I continued with my upward climb in my drenched clothes with the rain and hailstones beating down on my shoulders and I somehow managed to reach the peak. The trek and the rain had drained me of all my energy however the view from the peak of snow-capped mountains at a touching distance made me forget all the difficulties encountered in the journey and I subsequently completed my downhill trek without much difficulty despite it raining continuously.
This excursion made me realize that the greatest satisfactions in life comes when we achieve something after overcoming in what might then appear to be insurmountable challenges.
How has ABG affected me?
Aditya Birla Group is a conglomerate that has its interests in a variety for businesses ranging from cement to financial services to apparel. The telecommunications major Vodafone-Idea Cellular is also part of the Aditya Birla Group. With its across sectors presence ABG has been a part of not just mine but of most Indians’ in some way or the other. The group chairman is commonly referred to as the textile king of India with ABG holding the licences to sell most of the major apparel brands in India.
Like any other millennial even I am fond of wearing apparel from brands like Louis Philippe and Allen-Solly which help me to distinguish myself from the crowd because of their uniqueness and they make me appear crisp. The offerings from these brands are relatively easy on the pocket for a student and last long because of their superior quality thereby making it my preferred choice of apparel.
In this age of technology, telecommunication plays a major role. The ABG with its offering Vodafone-Idea Limited is at the forefront of it. Most of us have our friends and relatives who reside in different parts of the world. What helps to keep these bonds strong despite the physical distance is the advent of 3G and 4G because of which we can be a part of all the important moments in our loved
ones lives. Vodafone-Idea has been at the forefront of technological advancements in India and I have been using the same to stay close to my near ones for as long as I can remember.
The contribution of ABG in my life is so vast that if I were to narrate every instance when I have used an ABG product this essay would turn into a full-fledged novel.
