It was our second day at SDA Bocconi Asia Center since the IMB 7 program got inaugurated. We were full of enthusiasm to shape our careers and achieve our dreams. After our first accounts session with Prof. Laura, we couldn’t have been happier. Now we were anticipating which clubs and committees we could map our interests towards as they play a really important role in our CV’s. Thankfully, our seniors had planned it well for us and we were informed that we’ll be given a pitch by all the clubs at our B school so that we can have a clear picture and the right aim. The very first pitch was put forward by the Placement Committee and it was extremely impressive. We got to know about the strict code of conduct and the professional ethics they follow to ensure a successful placement season. The pitch inspired the majority of the audience to gear up and work hard towards their dreams. They patiently answered all the queries the students had throughout the process and they all carried a great sense of responsibility and discipline which was extremely commendable. The next day we had the Media Committee and the TEDx team talk to us and I must say the results they have achieved are brilliant. The media committee has done an impeccable job at managing our brand digitally and the TEDx team pulled off a really wonderful event on the theme Palette. Both these clubs represent utmost creativity and intrigued the creator in all of us. By this time the Placement Committee’s selection process had already started in all its vigour and each round was turning out to be a great learning experience. Parallel to this, after our classes ended, the academic clubs like Operations and Consulenza interacted with all of us and it was great to see the sense of community they had developed. Teaching and helping each other build their skills. Apart from these two, our B school has many more academic clubs (Finance, Marketing, HR, Luxury and Innovazione) and non- academic clubs (Cultural, Social, Sports and Photography) to offer which will pitch themselves at their respective timelines. The academic clubs help its members to be updated in that sector and thus provide a great platform for students to gain many more perspectives. The moment you’ll think that the list is complete, you’ll find out that there are some prestigious independent student chapters like Toastmasters, 180 DC and Hult Prize which provide great international exposure to its members. I am sure that there are many more such great initiatives to be added to this spread in the future. I strongly believe that we do have the resources which can take us to great heights and it all depends on how we want to tap the opportunities. The clubs and committees are nothing less than a world full of endless possibilities and it all depends on our own motivation to rise and shine brightly. With the right attitude and the right spirit, the sky is the limit.   Which ABGP company you want to work for and why? Idea cellular has been one of the leading mobile network operators in India, well known for their popular marketing campaigns. In March 2017, they announced a merger with another telecom giant Vodafone. This merger will create the largest telecom company in India by revenue and by subscribers, which will makes Idea a company to sought for. This is a crucial time prevailing in the Indian Telecom industry as Reliance Jio has shook the entire sector and is up for a tough competition. After the merger, we’ll have to implement an innovative and smart business strategy to fetch Vodafone-Idea a strong competitive advantage over its rivals, right from customer retention to brand marketing. Just thinking of an opportunity to work for Idea, awakens and challenges the strategy consultant within me and I believe that working for Idea Cellular will greatly educate me in the field of my interest.   Shivangi Ruperee IMB 2019-2020
