1. September 23, 2017 was the best day of my life. That day, my life took a 180 degree turn as I was able to bag one of the most sort after jobs in my engineering college. To get to that, I did make a lot of sacrifices and investments in terms of preparation, time, and energy but probably one of those investments that did make a huge impact were my Louis Philippe formals. Back then, when I went shopping in August, coming from a middle-class family, I was a bit reluctant to buy LP formals as I found them a bit on the higher end cost-wise. But, I couldn’t resist the temptation of getting those for myself as soon as I tried a couple of options. Probably I could perform to the best of my abilities throughout the process and the interviews as I was feeling confident and comfortable without a speck of self-doubt. That day I realized that appearances do matter and, if done right, can complement one’s personality to a tee. Since then, I haven’t gone to any other brand for formals as LP has always fit the bill perfectly. However, I have tried brands like Van Heusen and Allen Solly for casual wear and honestly have never been disappointed. Hence, I have always equated ABG fashion products with great quality and true value for money. Another place where I have experienced exemplary level of service by true professionals is at Pantaloons. The staff has always been kind and patient enough to cater to my needs. I believe it is the result of the vision of the founders and the leaders that such an amazing culture persists in the organization.
2. Post HSC, I was excited about pursuing a course in Aeronautical Engineering from the Continental Institute of International Studies, Chandigarh which had a collaboration with University of Brighton, UK. By the design of this course, as a student, I was supposed to complete the first year of the 4-year engineering course in India and the rest of the education was to be completed in the UK. As a student, I was pretty excited about my career and my life. The circumstances changed in the December of 2010, by the end of my first semester, when the UK immigration policies changed drastically, restricting non-EU nationals from working post education. Considering the dim chances of employment post a big investment of time and money, I decided to withdraw my admission in the January of 2011 and prepare for the engineering entrances. With vision and hard work, in a short span of 3 months, I was able to ace the State Engineering Common Entrance Test and secured admission in one of the best engineering colleges in Maharashtra. I have never faced a situation as challenging as this and was fortunate enough to get out of it successfully. Probably, I was able to pick the traits of perseverance, hard work, and integrity by observing my parents working their hearts out and never give up despite some extremely life changing circumstances.
