Alumni from IIM Kozhikode have come together to do their bit in India's fight against the Covid19 pandemic.
The campaign, named
COVID Art Relief is spearheaded by few of the newest alumni, graduates from the 2018-20 batch from IIM Kozhikode. The campaign provides artists a platform to contribute to the COVID-19 relief effort through their artwork and find avenues to make great use of their time during the lockdown.
COVID Art Relief sought to bring together artists from across the country who would be willing to donate some of their art pieces for online auction on a platform, aptly named
My Art Garage. Many aspiring artists from the college and outside also volunteered to donate their art pieces for this cause. Buyers would contribute through their purchases - the proceeds of which go to a host of NGOs and relief funds that are fighting the effects of the COVID19 pandemic. In the process, the art they purchase serves as a memoir of their contribution to the war effort. This is a small gesture of gratitude towards all those who are battling it out on the frontlines.
After weeks of painstaking effort, the art pieces have been curated and collaborations have been established with 3 NGOs. The Alumni Association of IIM Kozhikode also came forward to support this initiative. The
COVID Art Relief team went live on 18
th April with the first round of online sale of artworks exclusively for the alumni of IIM Kozhikode and raised close to INR 50,000. Proceeds from the first round of sales went to
IIMK Alumni COVID19 Relief Fund. The second round of sale will start from 25
th April and will continue for a week. The second round will be open for everyone, not only be restricted to alumni of IIM Kozhikode. Proceeds will be donated to the 3 NGO partners which have been doing amazing work in the last month. The online sales are being conducted
here.

“This is our own small way of bringing people together to wage war on this pandemic and extend our support to the ones fighting it out on the front lines. With your support, we can serve as a small reminder that we are all stronger together and we will prevail over these difficult times - together. May this campaign inspire students from other B-Schools to come up with similar initiatives and support COVID-19 relief activities”
