Telangana Government, in one of its recent initiatives, commenced the third phase of its flagship program, Haritha Haram: The Tree Plantation Drive. IMT Hyderabad’s Corporate Social Responsibility club: PAHEL, had the honor of hosting a mini Haritha Haram event in the college premises.
The event was graced with the presence of valiant and highly decorated police personnel of the Telangana state. However, the two eminent personalities who stole the show were: Ms. PV Padmaja, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shamshabad zone and Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim, an IPS officer, the Joint Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad.
The much-revered police personnel were accompanied to the plantation venue by the esteemed Dean, Mr. Rajnandan Pattnaik, and a group of faculty members of IMT Hyderabad.
In Indian culture, trees are revered as auspicious creations of the Almighty. Carrying forward the same legacy, some of the trees bearing a religious and auspicious connotation were selected to be planted in the state of the art campus of IMT Hyderabad. Namely, the following trees were planted: Kalpavruksham, Kamadhenuvu, Iravatam, and Vajrayudham.
Thereafter, the campus witnessed successive plantation of trees, after the inaugural sapling was rooted jointly by the police personnel and faculty of IMT Hyderabad.
Through this commendable initiative by Pahel, the students got the chance to do their part in reducing the carbon footprints and towards creating a better tomorrow.
