“It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up” The CAT results are out. Just like a coin has two facades, the result can be good as well as bad. Many will be very happy with the result and will be looking for the next stage in the selection procedure. But many candidates could not have performed well on the D-day and couldn't clear the next step of the selection procedure.  So, how do we deal with the results? “I don't measure a man's success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits the bottom” Failures are obvious in everyone’s life. Almost everyone has failed somewhere or sometime in life. We would have worked hard for the D-day or might have just given the exam without any seriousness. In both cases, we have to analyze ourselves objectively. Taking yourself as a different person, analyze why you failed, where did you go wrong, and think deep down to the roots of the problem and discover the causes. The next step is writing down the failures with improvement plans. Now adapt the improvement plan in the form of a daily schedule and restart it again this time without any delay. Negative emotions and 'log kya kahenge' are two problems which most of the aspirants who couldn’t get through, will be facing just after the  CAT results are out. The solution to this lies in accepting the fact that we have failed this time. But don’t attach any beliefs to the failures like 'I have nothing left to do' or 'Why does it happen to me every time?' as this can actually hurt. Unnecessary comments should be ignored as much as possible. We should say to ourselves that we can do it and have faith in ourselves. To all those who have finally cleared CAT with very good percentile, congratulations. For them, the noise of their success would have reached all their relatives and friends like a wildfire. But like the famous dialogue of Om Shanti Om goes 'picture abhi baki hai mere dost'. Gear yourself up for the next round of the selection procedure that is WAT (Writing Ability Test), PI (Personal Interview) and the GD (Group Discussion) for a few colleges. Don’t take this selection round lightly, as it has as good a part of your selection as your CAT score. Do the needful and be confident that you will get through the selection procedure. All the best for your future endeavours.
