The students of NMIMS Bangalore conducted TEDxNMIMSBangalore 2019 on 23rd February 2019 at the Courtyard by Marriott. This event marked the seventh edition of TEDxNMIMSBangalore and the theme of the event was “Demystifying Ethos” which attempted to demystify and decide the ethos and norms that have prevailed in every domain. The event hosted eminent personalities from various domains to talk about a wide range of subjects that were idea-focused and encouraged learning, so as to provoke conversations and make the audience think outside the boundaries which have come to define our society’s existence. The speakers at the event ranged from the famous theatre artist, Mr Prakash Belawadi. ; the CMO of United Breweries, Mr. Samar Singh Shekhawat; and Mr. Bharath Ramamrutham, one of India’s leading architectural photographer. TEDxNMIMSBangalore 2019 brought forth fresh ideas and perspectives and made the audience ponder on differing and numerous possibilities. The event was scheduled into three successive slots that consisted of three speakers each, the last segment had two speakers to conclude the event. The first slot began with a speaker from the art and culture area of expertise, Mrs.Parwati, a celebrated Indian folk dancer graced he stage with words and moves alike, what followed was a youth filled talk delivered by a spirited youth leader and activist Mr.Anirudh Belle who spoke on conformity and it's validity in public discourse, the first slot ended with the most celebrated talk of the event, Mr.Prakash Belawadi who was already a living legend shook the audience with his superb delivery and speech on identities and the ethos of our being. The second slot began after a light tea break and opened with Mr.Solanki, an entrepreneur giving a talk on innovation in education and lateral thinking in education. The next speaker was Mrs.Lodha, a socialite from Mumbai, who specialises in family and parental counselling, she spoke on parenting and how it was misunderstood to huge proportions in our society. The last speaker for the second slot was Dr.Syeda Ruksheda, a leading psychiatrist and psychotherapist from Mumbai who gave a talk on incest and it's invisible hand in sexual abuse. The final two speakers for the day was Mr.Samar Singh Shekhawat, a business leader from Bengaluru who spoke on the changing ethos of consumerism and consumer behaviour in the Indian context. The last speaker of the day was Mr.Ramamrthum, architecture and heritage photographer who spoke on photography and it's core to everybody, even a nom photographer. Such statements and ideas truly validated the purpose of the theme- of making the people think and rethink beyond the boundaries that surround us and venture ‘Demystifying ethos! The audience left the event contended and rejoiced by the fresh perspective gathered and the event garnered the appreciation of all the dignitaries involved.
