MDI has been a different experience for everyone that comes here. For me, it’s been exciting, hectic, joyous and a very surreal journey so far. From being sleep deprived working on assignments to sitting with friends at our local 24x7 canteens, Sharma’s, every moment is something that I will keep with me forever. Although I had expected B school to be really hectic, nothing had prepared me for the intensity that we had to put in right from the start. The induction at MDI is a grueling process, which did make us repent leaving our 9 to 5 jobs at times. But the freshers party after the induction was worth all the effort we had put in during the first couple of weeks. It also got the entire batch together by making us meet deadlines and barging into each other’s rooms to wake each other up for impromptu sessions. My journey after induction has been kind of a whirlwind. Averaging just four to five hours of sleep is something I was never used to, but that doesn’t even seem to be the problem anymore! I just hope to get 6 extra hours in a day to catch up on all the pending work. This doesn’t mean that we, ManDevians, don’t remove time for ourselves through all the academic rigor we are put through. From fighting neck to neck for KoK (King of Kings), our inter-section sports tournament to solving case studies with people from other sections, we are all bonding and making new friends every day. KoK has got our section closer than any other event could’ve have gotten us. People playing with all their heart, cheering with the last ounce of energy for our classmates and fighting through injuries to at least participate in every event has shown us a different side of each other, the more carefree, childish side in us. This makes us all bond and connect at a much deeper level. Personally, I love extra-curricular activities and KoK has been a joyous albeit tiring journey. Through all this fun-filled chaos, I haven’t forgotten why I am here. MDI will boost my career if I just focus and work hard. Marketing being my key area of interest, I would love to get an opportunity to work for Idea Cellular Limited. The telecom space has been disrupted recently and the companies now have to make sure that they come out on top at this crucial phase. This will be a difficult but interesting challenge for the company and I would like to contribute as much as I can.
