The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur, one of the six new IIMs the government has set up during the eleventh five-year plan. Although IIM Kashipur started functioning its operation bit later than any other new IIMs (Ranchi, Tricky, Rohtak, Raipur and Udaipur), this is the first IIM among them to move its operation to the new permanent campus.
200 acres of lush green campus, in the heart of nature, home of around 500 students (PGP and FPM students) and provide houses for the faculties as well. Designed by Acorp, the campus is a solid example of an engineering marvel and architectural creativity. The campus is located near to Nainital, Jim Corbett National park, which can help one to refresh from a tough schedule. Although it is not far from the National Capital Region which helps the Institute to get more industry exposure.
The campus with a perimeter of around four km offers its students many different facilities, be it in terms of academic or be it sports. The Institute focuses more on personality development of its students along with bookish knowledge, and that’s why the Institute has many different club and committees which give students a platform to showcase their talents in any particular field. Also, we believe in the statement that says, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” and that’s why our campus has many sports arena, e.g., Football field, Cricket field, Badminton court, Basketball court, Tennis court, TT to name some.
Talking about the hostels, four storey hostel buildings having six rooms on each floor, offering a single room to its student. These hostel rooms are very well maintained. The Institute has a separate building for providing food to its students. That mess building shows the hustle and bustle of management graduates. The place is always active and energetic.
Beguiled with the infrastructure and facilities, we the students of IIM Kashipur proudly call our campus as heaven on earth.
Which ABG company would one want to work for and why?
I would like to work with Idea Cellular which is India’s largest mobile operator along with merged entity Vodafone by subscriber base. I will be more than happy to work in the telecommunication industry and that too company like Idea Cellular as I did my engineering in Electronics & Communication field, I know the technical jargons of this particular industry. Having the technical knowledge on the core business of an organization help a manager to play his role in a more productive way. I would like to hold a marketing profile in the organization to add values in both the ways, be it business aspects or technical team handling.
