“Summer internships offer management students practical exposure to working in a corporate environment. We get an opportunity to work with experts and learn a lot about the real world challenges professionals face,” says Digvijay Singh Rathore of JKBS, who is geared up for his own internship with Jabong.com. He understands that it’s a prestigious place to work and looks at it as an important stepping stone towards his future career as he embarks on the journey.

He is excited about the Pricing and Campaign management role he has been offered for the internship. Here, he sheds light on this position, saying, “My responsibilities will include mapping the prices of our products with other competitors like Myntra.com, Flipkart.com, Amazon.in, and Snapdeal.com. I will also be responsible for rolling out campaigns to increase the sales of company.” As he delivers on the responsibilities and learns through the process, he hopes for a good and positive working environment.

Digvijay believes that this on-the-job training will teach him more about making decisions by taking slight risks based on analytical comparison with competitive companies. It’s something that is likely to hold him in good stead in his future career. If you ask Digvijay about the skills and knowledge he has acquired at JKBS that he can bring to the table, he responds with a clear and confident tone: “Team work, analytical skills and decision-making will be crucial as my role involves discounts and campaigns that can directly influence the profits and losses of the company.”

While Digvijay aims for a strong corporate career to gain experience, he has his eyes firmly set on his main goal of becoming an entrepreneur in the future. That’s the reason he admits he joined JKBS in the first place. “I joined the institute because I believed it would give me the opportunity to understand various aspects of business with ample corporate exposure and practical knowledge,” he explains. “I had heard so much about JKBS, but I did my research to make sure it’s the best place to groom myself and to attain my goals.”

He agrees that his journey with the institute has been a great one so far and has exceeded his expectations. “I have had so many opportunities to interact with industry specialists during guest lectures, which is a valuable experience,” he says. “The faculty and staff are very knowledgeable and always accessible to answer my queries. The solid infrastructure of JKBS is responsible in creating a healthy learning environment. Moreover the curriculum is a good mix of theoretical and practical learning.” Digvijay is clearly looking toward the future as he prepares to build on the learning his institute has afforded him with his internship experience.
