When dynamic young people who are committed to finding solutions, come together – something special happens. There is a lot of hard work that goes into making a cultural festival successful. There are long hours of practising, getting things done but one always enjoys the overall experience.Ashutosh Chaudhary, Secretary of Media and PR cell of the organising committee of Xamboree, the cultural fest of Xavier University, Bhubaneswar (XUB), says, “The preparations for the fest start much in advance and I feel it’s not the exertion that happens during the preparation and execution, but a feeling of amazing team spirit and satisfaction that stays with us.” Students from diverse backgrounds, different committees, and various streams come together as one. It’s like individually as schools we are droplets but together as a University, we become an ocean. The mix of different cultures in the schools is reflected in the events which are a part of the festival. We believe that it brings in diversity and innovation to the fest which greatly helps in its sustainability. The entire fest has an organising committee of more than 500 members and participation of around 1000 students from all over India. The best part about anyone’s college life we believe is the energy and enthusiasm in the atmosphere that contributes to the fun just as much as the art pieces that is put up. Talking about the themes that the students from different committees picked out this year for Xamboree, we can say that, “The themes cater to everyone’s interests, be it technical, sports or even social, which makes it clear that the fest takes care of your personality development as well, apart from nourishing the techie in you.” “Pursuing an MBA is all about managing time, and fests like these are the best platforms to practically do that. We enroll in colleges to not just develop our knowledge but also to hone our skill sets. This is our execution platform. Given that we don’t bunk classes despite having different time schedules for different schools, we also learn time management. However, when so many students work together differences in opinions are unavoidable! How do we deal with that? Well, any kind of misunderstandings or conflict of ideas that arise, we talk it out, to ensure everyone’s opinion is contemplated and the final outcome is stupendous. Since we get participants from all over the country, they expect unusual and newfangled ideas that cater to their interests. How do we make sure this happens? We have different schools working day and night to come up with exceptional competitions and contests pondering to the needs of different participants from different backgrounds. Sounds simple? Wasn’t that though! Because the work doesn’t end here, when unique ideas come together in a prodigious manner it has to be executed in the right fashion. So here are the list of events that has gone through the above mentioned diligent process to bring to you the best possible experience- planned by Xavier School of Human Resource Management, Xavier School of Rural Management, Xavier School of Sustainability Management, Xavier Center of Urban Management & Governance, and Xavier School of Commerce, like Case In point, Gladiator, Proact, Urbrainiac, and Skill city, which are an amalgamation of management scenarios prevailing in the real worldA workshop will be organized for the Literature Lovers by the famous Scribbled Stories. It provides a real-world experience in an exciting and engaging environment. It also includes Business Buzz, a business plan competition. The MUN (Modern United Nations) will also commence on the first day of the fest. A Handicraft Stall will be put up in the campus for all three days of the fest where the work of our precious Mess Staff will be on sale. The students, organisers, different schools and participants alike set an example that when we get together for a college fest we can come together for everything! The bypass cultural barriers unite across different age groups, courses and schools to have a gala time celebrating talent and competing in good spirit!
