PART A

Aditya Birla Group has presence in 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide. It has presence in various areas such as cement, textile business, fashion, telecom services, financial services, non-ferrous metals to name a few.  Aditya Birla Group also works for welfare of people of India. It works in 5,000 villages, reaching out to 7.5 million people annually through the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development. Over a million patients have been treated at 5,000 medical camps and 20 hospitals annually, More than 1,200 children underwent cleft lip surgery, 50 deaf and mute children underwent the cochlear implant surgery. This was a life changing experience for the children as they can now speak and hear. Over 5,000 physically challenged persons have been provided with artificial limbs making them self-reliant in Karnataka and Lucknow. This is done in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti. Aditya Birls Group has 56 schools across India providing quality education to 46,500 children. Merit Scholarships are given to 32,000 children from the interiors. Over 28,000 children in the hinterland of India are being taught conversational English to build their confidence. Aditya Birla Group support projects for the differently abled in Baroda and Odisha. In Baroda, Aditya Birla Group is connected with the M. S. University, which conducts an annual sports event for the differently able through their association ‘Prayas’ and In Odisha, with ‘Swabhiman’. Skills and personality development programmes have been conducted for 400 children from the urban poor/slum households, which is completely funded by Aditya Birla Group. It is also transforming 20 schools in Rajasthan into model schools and fostering the cause of the girl child by supporting 40 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas.

Aditya Birla Group has a massive presence in my life as I have used Aditya Birla Group’s products and services multiple times Ranging from Idea Cellular for network quality it provides to Ultratech cement for building home. I have been using fashion brands like Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Pater England and Louis Philippe for the quality and service they provide. Aditya Birla Group will continue to be a big part of every Indian’s life through its variety of products and social work.

 PART B

Being part of such a diverse and populated nation in itself marks certain challenges since we are born. Right from availing proper medical assistance for newborns and getting children admitted to good school, life is full of challenges for a common Indian. When I and my twin sister were in mother’s womb, prominent doctor in my city declared one of us as dead flesh ball. Upon further tests and second opinion, it was shockingly found that both of us were alive and were perfectly healthy. That was the start of challenges in my life even before I was born. 

 Growing up, I found my interest in playing chess and roller skating. I participated in various chess competitions and won many interschool tournaments. I took part in state and national chess tournaments and realized my weaknesses, through lots of defeats I realized I had a lot to learn and I accepted the challenge. I analyzed my mistakes with the guidance of my coach and improved my game through lot of practice and strategy. My ranking and win ratio improved with time and I successfully overcame the challenge thrown at me. After school I started preparing for IIT JEE and I failed to get into IIT due to my low score in exam despite of my sincere efforts. It bothered me a lot but I joined one reputed Engineering college in my city and shifted my focus on studies. I learnt a valuable lesson that not everything you desire goes in your favor, sometimes you have to move on with whatever you have and make the most of it. After completing my engineering I joined software MNC after rigorous selection process and gave my best working there. I felt need for a change in the role I was in and I started preparing for MBA entrance exams along with work. Initially it was very challenging to take out time to study after a hectic day of work in office but with self motivation I managed to tackle this challenge too and now I have joined one of the elite management institutes in the country. I aspire to overcome any challenge that life throws at me.
