Illumina, the Disguised Market Research Club of MDI Gurgaon, hosted E-Illumina for its 24th edition on the 22nd November 2020, unfazed by the pandemic situation.
E-Illumina held a plethora of virtual events throughout the day. It started off with Expressions, an art competition for school children, in collaboration with Creya Learning. The kids were divided into 2 categories, from classes 3 to 6 and from classes 7 to 10. The competition was conducted virtually through a zoom platform. But the enthusiasm displayed by kids was not deterred by the pandemic situation and they showcased their creativity based on the themes given to them. The passion of children stole our hearts!
This was followed by a Market Research Workshop by Hansa Research, the Largest Indian Consumer Research Firm. Illumina hosted Mr. V Sudarshan, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Hansa Group and Mr. Rohit Kumar, Vice President, Hansa Group to educate students about market research principles and techniques. The session was thoroughly engaging and insightful for the students. Illumina also launched a case study competition in association with IndusInd Bank with a prize money worth 80K.
One of the main highlights of E-Illumina 2020 was the Virtual PET LOVERS MEET, a first of its kind pet parents meet, hosted in association with Pedigree, Whiskas & IAMS. The show received participation from pet parents from all over India who participated in fun quizzes, pet dress up competition and lucky draw events. The show also included a vet seminar given by Dr. Umesh Kallahalli, Director Scientific Affairs at Mars Petcare. Dr. Kallahalli covered various topics related to pet nutrition and pet care. It was a unique experience for everyone to meet the lovely pets virtually.
Illumina leveraged the digital platforms to enhance social media engagement. This was done through a dedicated website, launching a facebook event and collaboration with multiple social media influencers for more reach. The event observed an engagement of over 1 lakh.
The fun-filled day ended on a happy note, as the students of MDI were entertained by the stand-up comedian Aakash Gupta. Although it was a virtual event, it did not stop the students to make the most of it. It was fun-filled evening full of jokes and humorous interaction between the students and Aakash. The students also got a break from their schedules with this event.
E-Illumina 2020 was a huge success as all events received great participation from across India, even in the virtual set-up!
