EnVision, the flagship event of Avartan organised by the PGDISEM students concluded here on 25th October. The event provided a common podium for the leaders from industry, academicians and students from the participating institutes to discuss environment related risks and share their perspectives and concerns. EnVision consisted of a host of events which had a common theme of providing business solutions to complex problems and paving a way for industry to move towards sustainable ways of business. The event kicked off on 24th October with Green Lantern. The event provided an opportunity for the students to interact and learn from the stalwarts in the industry. The delegates for the event included Ms. Chitkala Zutshi (IAS), Mr. Amol Dhepe (HSE Head,  Sandoz Kalwe Site, SGS), Mr. Avdesh M (GM EHS, DB Group), Mr. Jeevan Rao (Head, Environment & Safety, Siemens Ltd. India.), Sunil Kumar (Senior GM, Reliance Industries Ltd), Mr. Vijay Ranalkar, Amit Saha (Chief Sustainability Office, Coca - Cola India), Mr. Prashant Deshpandey (Lead Auditor for  ISO 27001:2005, ISO20000:2005 and ISO 9001). The speakers shared their experience and expertise with the students and also about different practices followed in their respective companies and industry. This was followed by other competitions for the students which included EnGauge, the case study contest. Panaroma, the theme based photography competition and GreenVas, the theme based poster designing competition. The panel discussion marked the closing of EnVision 2013. The event saw speakers giving invaluable inputs about how the corporate looks at sustainability and the many related factors. The speakers emphasized on the fact that sustainability was a big opportunity for those companies which wanted to incorporate new practices into their operations and grow. The discussions also shed light on how companies can stick to sustainability practices and create a situation where everyone is benefited; customers, investors and the industry. The speakers were Ms. Beroz Rumie Gazdar (Sr VP, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd), Mr. Premkumar Pandurangam (Senior Director, Sustainability, Cognizant Technology Solutions), Mr. Santhosh Kumar Singh (Associate VP, Adani Power Ltd.), Mr. Rajeev Kher (MD, Saraplast), Mr. Rahul Prasad (Associated with Greenpeace), Mr. Aniruddha Sharma (CEO, Carbon Clean Solutions). The online events of EnVision 2013 were sponsored by Ek Titly and Fotocenter. IOCL was the sustainability partner, SGS was the EHS certification partner and The Alternative was the online media partner for the event.
