Part A
My experience with ABG started with the retail giant
More. As I come from a middle-class joint family,
More had always been a one-stop-shop for the whole family for all our daily needs with the best prices possible. In an increasingly digital world of ours, Aditya Birla Group helps me through data connectivity and high speed internet of
Vodafone Idea Limited. It helps me to stay connected and be aware of things around on a regular basis. Be it
Van Heusen blazer in my wardrobe or the
Freshwrapp aluminum foil in my kitchen, the Aditya Birla Group has been an integral part of my daily routine and just like mine, has touched millions of lives in India and abroad and its presence in our lives has been massive.
Mumbai is synonymous with the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. This iconic civil engineering marvel was designed to connect the main city to its western suburbs, i.e., Bandra to Worli - 0.1 Million mt of
Ultra Tech Cement went into the construction of Mumbai’s Bandra Worli Sea Link thereby contributing towards connecting India better. The Aditya Birla Group is also known for its CSR initiatives in various sectors like Healthcare, Education and Infrastructure. Such initiatives along with its sustainability measures have shown how it cares to improve our society on a whole.
Aditya Birla Group, being a Fortune 500 company with a revenue of more than 44 billion USD, present in 34 countries in the world and having a legacy of 162 years has established itself as a global conglomerate and a household name through sustained growth and exemplary diversification.
Part B:
After completing my engineering, I had two options to go with. 1.) A job as a software developer in multi national company or 2.) To step into my family business which is my passion, which enables me to work from the scratch to bring in significant improvements which is a challenging yet fully satisfying job. But I had the intention in my mind that I need to go with corporate job in an MNC so that I can global exposure how the global businesses actually work and what's the strength in the refined corporate culture. Yes, it was a tough situation to choose from. But after much heavy analysis I decided to go with our family business, because I can learn from the scratch, directly deal with customers, can learn how to deal with vendors, contractors. I can also learn how the store needs to be maintained, how to deal with inventory, how to deal with the work force and what not. Also after having 2 to 3 years of work experience I can join a good b school to take my learning to a whole new level, can have the opportunity of interacting and networking with best people, best professors, industry experts and ultimately can stand a chance of working with world's best companies like Aditya Birla Group and its Leadership program. So with all this, I followed my passion, had experienced the finer nuances of business, made many improvements and now accordingly as per my plan I am in India's best Supply Chain Management College, which is obviously "NITIE".
