To begin with, this internship gave me an overall understanding of what are the different types of marketing activities that are conducted in an FMCG firm. The company is still in its growth stage however is a market leader in West Bengal market giving tough competition to ITC in the wheat flour sector.
My Journey with Ganesh Grains began after being shortlisted based on my Resume followed by a couple of interactions with the HR of the company. My first day began with an orientation on the basic rules and regulations of the company followed by an induction towards its products, I was also assigned my next day's task which was consumer survey on the company's highest revenue generating product. Consumer Survey was followed by taking feedbacks from various retailers selling Ganesh's Products. Therefore first month helped me understand the views of the customers as well as the retailers of the company.
The second month was about supervising their BTL marketing activities, which involved checking on the progress of the work for their newly launched campaigns and also getting vendors and negotiating with them for the planned campaigns.
In all my mentor Mr. Angshuman Ghosh helped me in understanding the working of the marketing domain to the best, as my stint was of just 2 months and yet I could have such an experience. He also motivated me to put forth my ideas and actually measure the feasibility of the same, and gave me all the opportunity to explore my creativity.
The company paid fairly well stipend considering I am a fresher. The work culture of the company is also rapidly changing as more and more youngsters are joining. Although the company is in its growth stage it reflects on how well it is doing with the rate it is expanding
