Prayaas, the social initiative of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad plans to host its tenth edition of the annual flagship fundraiser event
“A Day at IIMA” on
November 7, 2020, this time in a virtual avatar.
‘A Day at IIMA’ provides a unique opportunity to live the life of a first-year MBA student at IIMA with a mere fee of Rs 1800.
All the proceeds from the event will be directed towards the education of underprivileged kids associated with Prayaas with the hope that these kids will be able to make it to the other side of the Red Bricks someday.
“A Day at IIMA” provides the participant an opportunity to attend classes of esteemed professors of IIMA and to acquaint the participants with the case pedagogy giving the famed academic rigor along with fun extracurricular activities.
Started in 2011, the event saw a footfall of 180 participants last year. Even this year the event will accommodate a
maximum of 180 participants on a first come first serve basis.
“A day at IIMA was one of the best experiences of my life. I am convinced now that I will work extremely hard to make it through IIMA. Thank you Prayaas for giving me this wonderful opportunity and for all your efforts in brightening the future of these underprivileged kids,” said one of the participants at ‘A Day at IIMA’ in 2018.

About Prayaas
Prayaas was started when a group of IIMA students piloted a project in 2004 as a part of the course requirements conducted by Prof. Anil Gupta. What started as a small project has sustained itself over the years with every passing batch, impacting the lives of hundreds of kids and the students at IIMA. Currently, Prayaas has 80+ children associated with it.
Prayaas needs funding of Rs. ~10 lakhs with Rs. ~12,000 annual average expenses for each student. We hope all the participants get to live their IIMA dream for a day, and also help fulfill the Prayaas dream of ‘Education must be an equal opportunity for all.’
