I, having seen the difficulties in adjusting and competing with huge competition, during a sudden shift from my town Palakonda to Visakhapatnam at an age of 13, have learnt many lessons: "To not give up", being the main one. As I go down the memory lane, I still remember those incidents where I was mocked for my poor communication skills in English. I also remember the hours of hard work that I've put in with the cooperation of family, teachers and new friends to overcome my fear and how I succeeded it by receiving several laurels in public speaking.
During my final year of B.Tech Instrumentation in Andhra University, I've given CAT16 and declined offers from Tapmi, Imi Delhi and SIBM-B in order to try harder the next year. I declined technical job offers and joined as Business Development trainee in a startup as I wanted my work to be in line with the career I want to choose. all these incidents cluttered in my mind and helped me get a clear picture of why I chose IIM_V over many others during CAT17
IIM Visakhapatnam being the new an evolving IIM has a great scope in future. The Case study learning, esteemed faculty and a diversified bunch of students from far-flung states across India further supported my decision to choose IIM-V. Its strategic location in Visakhapatnam, which is the financial capital of Visakhapatnam, the commercial hub of Andhra Pradesh and also a Smart City also has a huge advantage. Considering IIM-B as its mentor institute and considering its specialized programmes on IT and ITES, this holds an advantage too. International Immersion Programme helps to create exposure on operating business in leading economies. Basing on all these factors, I’ve chosen IIM-V and I feel honoured to be a part of this institution.
Which ABG Company would you want to work for and why?
I would like to work with Idea Cellular as I feel it’s a great platform for my professional growth. I would like to be a part of the team that’s dealing with a very challenging situation in telecom sector ( merger with Vodafone) and learn how to deal during such intense scenarios and still successfully add value to economy.
