I just can’t forget my first day in the college. It was a very different experience, which was mainly because I got admission from the open counselling. Therefore, I actually joined two weeks late. So, when I entered the college, I experienced a different vibe altogether. There were birds chirping and students rushing for the classes but it still it felt different from my graduation college for some reason. I too just placed my luggage in my allotted room and rushed to the class.
There I was in the first class of my post-graduation. I entered the class and took the corner back seat so that I would go unnoticed. The first lecture began and that was the first time I was attending a lecture of 1.5hrs. Even though I slept enough already, I started dozing off. Suddenly I heard the professor calling out a name; I was scared as hell at that point. Then I saw he called someone else and sighed of relief. That student went to him and I thought he would be scolded or sent out of the class but instead he started playing a song and said “Start”. The student started dancing, flaunting moves that were hilarious beyond expectation. After that a student told me, it’s his way of reenergizing the class. I was right; there was something different about this college. After attending all the lectures, I had lunch and was going for a nap when I got a mail of a session to be held by our seniors of placement committee. I was then told that this was a regular thing and I should always be ready for it. After we came back from the session I again went straight to the bed when again a message popped up from the class representative, reminding the deadline for submission of a project. I again got up and started working on. My first day in my new college, I went to sleep at 4am, again to get up for the class at 8:30 next day. I realized this was not just a one-day issue but rather a regular thing. That’s when I realized that it was the rigorous schedule here that moulded such excellent students. Instead of Time management being learnt, it becomes a necessity here.
