XLRI has come up with the first edition of its quarterly news magazine, “Magis”, encompassing the plethora of activities and events that have taken place on campus in the last quarter. It covers the JRD Tata Oration ‘14, graced by HRD minister Dr.Pallam Raju Mallipudi, where he extensively hailed XLRI for its endeavour on promoting business ethics, and also gives a glimpse into the various leadership initiatives undertaken by the school for the same. It also covers the sector-wise placement triumphs of the B-school, despite the market downturn. Apart from this, it gives a blow by blow account of all major events of every committee on campus, ranging from co-curricular committees hosting finance, marketing, consulting or HR related events to Sports and Cultural events organised in the school and also the social initiatives taken by the student committees. It devotes some space to the launch of the Global MBA programme started by XLRI, which took place in Shanghai. It also covers the initiatives by the Alumni Association in helping meritorious students with their higher studies and, on a lighter note, the Alumni meet held to take the batch of 1978 down memory lane. It also contains an article about the activities of XL’s alumni, from the business world to donning the writer’s hat. In a fresh take, it covers important information regarding the Faculty as well, such as the new members of its fraternity, the projects, researches and other academic activities undertaken by the existing faculty members, etc. This is a new initiative taken by the college and they hope to come up with subsequent editions regularly, keeping the world attuned to the happenings in and around XLRI.
