My Campus is a place filled with brilliant brains, great ideas and an extreme sense of pride for the institution which has imparted and is continuing its legacy of imparting an excellent environment to study, grow and develop as individuals who aim to become the leaders of tomorrow. My campus is a very humble dwelling where people from diverse backgrounds can be seen at every corner and it amazes me when I try to understand how people who could never have gotten along well outside this campus are nothing less than the crutches one needs when one is about to fall.

My campus is not just three letters- FMS, it is more than that. It is an emotion, a dream for many, a stepping stone to reach their goals which they have been weaving since a long time. Here, in my campus, along with some very serious studies and sessions which take me by awe, people like me find ourselves, learn how to push our limits and build some great friendships. All the 450 odd students know, support and look out for each other and this bond of unanimity is the thing which makes my campus unique. We are not just students studying in a college, we are a family, growing and learning together.

A memorable classroom experience in my B-School:

Answer: Its been 20 odd days since I have joined my college and I already feel like I have grown as a person and have become much more knowledgeable than I was before entering my Dream college. I have spent more time outside classrooms in the ‘gyaan’ sessions by seniors than in the classroom being taught by the professors.

One of the most memorable classroom experience in my B-School has been the first day of Induction when I could find not one familiar face. Every person was new and getting to know 200 odd people was something which excited me a lot. That day was my first exposure to what my next 2 years at FMS would be. Learning, talking, getting to know people, getting reprimanded by the seniors, listening to the stories and experiences of so many seniors and batchmates, playing Table Tennis and not realizing how 15 hours had passed in the B-School has been one of the most memorable days in FMS.

Introducing - some of my crazy batchmates

To describe a few interesting people in my class:

Manu

Manu is a Kerala boy who came all the way from extreme south to a place which is Mini-India. Manu doesn’t know or understand Hindi and thus He doesn't understand Hindi and it has been an absolute treat to make him learn a new language. He is an engineer and has a very good sense of humor. He makes us laugh not just outside class but his jokes are such that even teachers enjoy his quirky humor.

I think he is crazy because he is a very active person, always full of life and has been a professional Chess Player. He is also a trained Classical Musician. He is a basketball player and a trained Violinist!

He is an extremely talented person, not just in these extra-curricular activities but has also proved his mettle in studies and is studying in a Premier B-School in India!

Aditya Bhale

Aditya Bhale is the guy who one would stop by and hear him singing, even if one is in a hurry. In a competition which we had, we had to showcase our talents and earn money from that. Aditya sang so well that people listening to him came up and gave him so much money that in about 5 hours, he earned more than Rs. 8000 alone! Additionally, during this he met a music director who took Bhale’s number and he is now expecting a call from him! The more interesting thing about him is that he isn’t a trained singer.

Aditya is an engineer and during one exam, he travelled from Bhillai to Durgapur but in the morning rather than going for the exam, he went to watch a movie with a friend. Even though all this, he is an extremely focused person and gives utmost importance to his career. Fun Fact: He is engaged already!

Pooja Parwani

She is an engineer from JP University, Guna. She has been born and brought up in a small village named Biyawar which anyone would have a hard time locating on a map! She is the only person from her village to study in a post graduate college and takes extreme pride in that. She has been working in Cognizant from the past 3 years in Chennai. As she recalls, it was around 10 pm when she picked up a call from her best friend to find her standing outside her building asking her to come to Pondicherry which was a 150km drive from her place. The both of them left at 11pm that day, reached Pondicherry, spent the weekend there and joined Office from the next Monday!

People love adventures but Pooja is a level above that. She dreams and lives those adventures!

Shanky Garg

I met Shanky in my B-school on the first day on Induction and haven’t stopped talking to him since then! He has an amazing sense of humor and in a task where we had to make spoofs and act out anything which would make the crowd laugh, he was the person everyone was looking forward to! Shaky acted out almost everyone in our senior batch with such perfection that even they were in awe.

An engineer by profession, Shanky says that after his MBA he is looking forward to a career in Acting!

Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?

If given an opportunity, I would love to work for Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABC). I have always found numbers very intriguing and fascinating. It has always been something very fascinating that economies can be influenced. I have done my graduation in the disciple of Finance because after exploring several options and even doing an internship in marketing, I finally realized what my calling was. Working with ABC would give me the opportunity to work with the best brains in the world of Finance. The company also has a lot of profiles for this domain which would not restrict in a particular profile but would help me in developing as an individual and excel in them.
