The Indian Institute of management, Rohtak was founded in 2009 as the eighth IIM in the country. It was the first IIM in North India and is the only one in the National Capital Region. Situated less than 80kms from Delhi, IIM Rohtak has progressed rapidly since its foundation and has become one of the fastest growing B School in the country. The proximity to Delhi has also helped the college immensely by enabling guests and corporates from across the country to reach the campus smoothly. The B School was initially being operated from a temporary campus inside another University in the city of Rohtak but has shifted to its permanent campus from the start of this academic year.
The new campus of IIM Rohtak is spread across 200 acres of land and is situated near Sunariya village in Rohtak. The state of the art campus, which is still under construction, will be become one of the most modernised and well-equipped campus in a few years. The institute aims to move towards an entirely digital campus, and several steps have been taken for this. For example, the curriculum books of the students have been replaced by eBooks which can be availed using an application on their smartphones or laptops. Several e-databases have also been subscribed to which gives the students access to a vast ocean of information. The institutes plan to introduce further initiatives to move towards complete digitisation shortly.
Another unique thing about IIM Rohtak is its focus on analytics as a domain. Most other B schools focus on traditional areas such as marketing, finance etc. but institute aims to make a mark in analytics. As the importance of analytics in today’s digital economy is growing day by day, our institute plans to prepare students so that they can effectively embrace these changes and adapt quickly. To achieve this, the college has introduced a plethora of courses which teaches students the use of analytics for better management in several areas be it marketing, financial services or even recruitment and training. The faculty are also well trained in this domain, and they also teach us the use of different tools for this purpose. The college has also rolled out unique courses for their executive education program which enables working professionals to learn and be a part of the institute. The course outlines regularly updated in line with the industry trends, and hands-on workshops are conducted too for making the student's industry ready. The focus on analytics has helped the students excel in various competitions and live projects in this field.
