Students lined up for a photo shoot
The beaming faces spoke of the high spirits of the students of the 2013-2015 batch, as they readied for the institute’s 4
th Convocation Ceremony on Sat, May 2 2015 in Ranchi.
The ceremony was held at Dr. Ramdayal Munda Kala Bhawan Auditorium in Hotwar, Ranchi and was graced with the presence of Shri Ajit Balakrishnan Founder-CEO of Rediff.com, as the chief guest. Members of Board of Governors, faculty and staff members of IIM Ranchi were also present for the occasion.
The programme started with Academic Procession followed by chief guest’s welcome. The convocation was declared open by Prof. Anindya Sen, Director In-charge, IIM Ranchi. He also went on to give a brief account of students’ activities from the 2013-2015 batch. These included recognizing students’ achievements in prestigious competitions such as Nasscom B-plan competition, Launchpad B-plan event at IIM Calcutta, Deloitte Maverick Contest, Movie Marketing event at IIM Ahmedabad, OPJEMS Scholarship among many others. Also, prizes were given away to the winners of oratory and seminar presentation competitions held to observe Good Governance Day. This was followed by presentation of diplomas by Dr. Hasit Joshipura, the Officiating Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Ranchi. The certificates and medals were awarded to students at the hands of the chief guest.
Chairman, BoG addressed the audience which was followed by chief guest’s address who talked about changing scenario of management in today's world in contrast to what he experienced at the start of his career. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Amarendu Nandy, PGP Chairperson, IIM Ranchi. The convocation was declared closed by the chairman, followed by singing of national anthem and departure of Academic Procession.
