Aditya Birla Group - Big in My Life
There is not a place in my life where I turn and don’t find a product of Aditya Birla Group. Even before coming to IIM Bodhgaya, we were told to bring a business formal suit and right away my first choice was Peter England which was bought by ABG in 2000. Even when my family has to buy home products or packed foods, there is only one destination in our city, the Big Bazaar which is also owned 50 % by the ABG. It has kind of grown onto us, some days when my family is bored, we just go to the place and try out new items and foods in different sections of Big Bazaar. My mother is a home appliance fan, I clearly remember the rush on the festive season of Diwali of 2015 and we just rushed into the home appliance section and bought an L.G microwave in a hurry. My father constantly thought that the microwave we bought must be broken but I constantly reminded him of the quality Big Bazaar provides and to this day the microwave has not been majorly repaired. My city has some other supermarkets like Vmart and Vishal Mega Mart also but we always find our way into Big Bazaar or Easyday. My mother waits for the Easyday cashbacks which are offered after the purchases. There is a profound effect of ABG in our life. I remember when in 2011 our house was being constructed, our contractor had bought cement which had the tagline ”SASTA NHI SABSE ACHHA”. I remember my father’s face when he saw that the contractor had bought some cheap cement and not Ambuja cement and the when he scolded him for it, that made my day, I still remember the contractor’s face !!!. Even my family uses Idea sim cards, there is no connectivity of other networks in my city better than Idea. When we go to my village we had to stand on the roof to get networks but when we switched onto Idea in 2016, we just sit back and relax now, there is 4G connectivity in the lobby of the house. There is no sphere in me and my family’s life that has not been touched by the Aditya Birla Group.
Now that I think about it, I cannot imagine my life without Aditya Birla Group’s Supermarket outlets or Fashion retail outlets or even the Ambuja cement or the Vodafone Idea network. Unknowingly me and my family is attracted to the quality and price range that Aditya Birla Group’s subsidiaries offer and we just love it. I cannot imagine my life without this group’s innovation or products. I believe that there are millions of families in our country like mine that are touched by the Aditya Birla Group on a daily basis.

Challenges Bring Out The Best In Us !!
"Life is the best teacher and Challenges are the best examples"
People say "Life is the best teacher " but I would like to add that "Challenges are the best examples". Life throws a lot of challenges at us and there are a lot of challenges before an ambition finally becomes a reality. To make a dream, an ambition, come true takes a lot of courage and hard work. The most recent challenge in my life was when I was struggling financially, socially and educationally. It was in the year 2017 in my 3
rd of year B.E when I was not able to cover up my backlogs from my family. I was not able to understand computers, though I had survived for past 2.5 years in the undergraduate course but I was just on the brink of being expelled from the college and my parents shared the news with me that our crops had failed for that year due to severe cold and my mother was prematurely retired due to differences between her and the school administration. It came in as the biggest boulder life could throw at me. My parents thought that I was their biggest asset but I turned out to be their biggest liability. I had accumulated more than 25 backlogs and I could not understand what to do. My peers did not support me, not even when I had helped them before by going out of my way. They were cold hearted people with no sense of empathy.
I was tired of being in this mess, the financial burden of me on my parents and moreover of the backlogs, I decided to change something. Something that I was not able to figure out before and that was me. I could not help but think that the reason I am in this mess is because of me. This moment of realization changed my whole being. So, finally I started working on a part time basis for a digital marketing company called Elixir Media Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Which was owned by one of my seniors in college. I started working for the firm and was given a partner restaurant named Monk’s Drop In and I designed a Logo for them which they appreciated, created a Facebook page and did their digital marketing campaign. In around 9 months time , I brought my life back on the track, cleared all of my 25 backlogs and succeeded in getting an Internship in a Fin-Tech company Finamics Global. When I was not expecting things to get any better , God gave me another gift, I got an admission call from Indian Institute of Management Bodhgaya, not only I got admission into a premier institute of our country, I got education loan myself and I stopped being a burden on my family, which was my utmost priority.
I believe challenges are the fire which shape us into a stronger person. They change us at the core of our heart and shake our belief system. They make us strong, resilient and more hardworking. When I look back upon it, I feel grateful that I have emerged strong and grown exponentially.
