The exciting one-year journey in IIM Indore has taught more about the destination, leading to believe in our abilities empowering us to walk down the brighter side of the path. The diversity in the campus provides you with enough different experiences preparing you for the future. I have been in constant fear when I initially entered the campus, but with the help of the friends and supportive faculty, I have evolved to a better version of myself now. My first interaction with the ABG group in the campus was the project which our group undertook under the Industry Interface Program. We visited the Indore head Office of Idea and had a healthy discussion with the officials their which made a permanent positive impact on us. They were really helpful and supportive during our project duration as we were working under the guidance of experienced and supportive people. Apart from the project work we also received some valuable advice about other aspects of life, which are important but we tend to neglect them in the initial phase of life. At last, our project was completed after three months and ended on a positive note from our industrial mentor. This experience gave us insights about the telecom industry and how it works. I would like to join The Telecom Industry where Idea have quite a market, and the previous interaction with the Idea group has surely motivated to work with them. The campus life provides you with varied experience consisting of cultural festivals, assignments and projects. The same also involves some hardships but the thought “You didn’t come this far, to come only this Far” keeps me going through the journey. The beauty of this lies in the happiness after the successful completion of a particular task. I still remember the first case of marketing where the boards full of solutions from our side fascinated us, but slowly almost all the solutions were curbed down till the end of the case. That introduced us to the world of management where no solution is either perfect or permanent, the competitive dynamics almost makes it impossible to do so. From that point onwards, we are constantly nurtured with knowledge from all sides to make us competitive with necessary capabilities and making us aware about the rapidly changing industrial scenario. The green campus will give you immemorable memories and photos depicting the beauty of nature. The night tour of the campus, night mess, the long night debates are some of the things which had added flavour to the life. The journey has been different from the past and worth it. I would like to join The Telecom Industry where Idea have quite a market and the previous interaction with the Idea group have surely motivated to work with them.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
Working for such a big Indian multinational conglomerate is a dream in itself. But given a chance to decide which company to work in, I would want to be in the retail sector, which is Aditya Birla Retail Limited as this is a kind of business one could connect to very well. Also, the range of businesses within the sector including, FMCG products, fruits, vegetables, groceries, frozen food, bakery, homecare, personal care, pharmacy, general merchandise, apparel and footwear, all offer something which can never go out of demand, since these are a part of the daily life of an individual and hence easy to connect to.
