The domain, operations, engulfs a lot of aspects in a corporation. From supply chain management to IT services operations, the domain has a lot to offer. It's not easy to cater to so many aspects but I believe the Operations club of SDA Bocconi Asia Center has been successfully doing the same. Let’s face it. Operations is a dry subject. No fancy marketing campaigns or clever sales pitches to blow you away. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a charm of its own. I like quantifiable results, critical and analytical thinking. And operations domain gives you the opportunity to satisfy all the aforementioned affections. I joined GenOps, the official name of the club, almost a year back from today and it has been one of the best decisions I have made in my PGPB journey. The club believes in empowering students via peer to peer learning. The weekly sessions consist of case study challenges, discussions on current & upcoming trends and subject matter classes conducted by the club members. The case study challenges bring about several perspectives and solutions to a single problem. The speciality of GenOps club is the subject matter classes. These sessions have been extremely enlightening and provide a strong foundation for the actual classes. The club believes in empowering every member. The core committee of the club stands to facilitate the growth of the members of the club. Let me shower light on some of our achievements. Our head of corporate relations, Thejaswini K.S, helped build a strong relationship with one the top logistics companies in the world and gave us a chance to visit their offices and talk to industry experts on real-life cases. Our competitions and competencies head, Chirag Gulati, along with club member Apoorv Chandrawanhi organized the first inter-college competition, Opstruct, conducted by the GenOps club on dare2compete. Our members have competed and won inter-college competitions such as Tvaran, SC Innovatia to name a few. We have collaborated with other clubs in the college to portray the importance of operations in every aspect of the business. The club also helped organize the Lean Six Sigma Green belt certification for the class. Last but not the least, our head of learning and development, Rishabh Kumar, has made sure that every member is aware of all the concepts that operations as a domain have to offer and we can’t thank him enough for his work. We as a club believe in comradery and cohesion and I’m proud that I was given an opportunity to lead the club which comprises of such amazing and hard working individuals.   Which ABGP company will you like to join and why? The company that I would like to work for would be Aditya Birla Payments Bank. With the government pushing for cashless transactions with moves like demonetization the need for payment banks have increased considerably. Other government policies like the broadband internet for all villages will only help this industry further. Being an avid learner I believe being part of such a growing industry would help me to learn new things continuously expanding my knowledge. Not to forget the five core value of the group Integrity, Commitment, Passion, Seamlessness, and Speed that helped them become a true multinational based out of India. These values are in line with what I would look for in a company so that I can grow personally and professionally.
