National Institute of Industrial Engineering is situated in the hard to find the greenest area of the financial capital of the country, Mumbai. It is one of the very few green campuses in the country where you feel in Nature’s lap. Campus has been consistently winning awards for its beauty. It is a 65 acre campus in which all the facilities are placed on a hilly terrain slightly away from the fast paced life of Mumbai where you are assured to have rarely available fresh air to breath in a city like this. We have Sanjay Gandhi National Park along with the Vihar lake on one side and Powai lake on the other with Hiranandani skyscrapers in its backdrop. College campus is full of flora and fauna. You can find tens of thousands of species of plants and animals. If you are lucky(or unlucky maybe), you are likely to encounter snakes, leopards, crocodiles to mention a few. The most unique thing about my campus is our own pond situated in the heart of the campus. It is the place where you will certainly find group of students having light moments of interaction after the hectic day at the college. At least once in a day, it is a kind of ritual for every student to have a walk around the pond. Every NITIEzen needs to perform a mini trek while going from the hostel building to the academic building. In between, you come across 96 steps which we call stairway to wisdom. Boy's hostel building, the Taylor hall, is the tallest B-school hostel building in India. You can surely have a scenic view from the top. Last but not the least, students of this college make it even more unique. We are from different family backgrounds, with different profiles, coming from every corner of India. We strive hard to give the best possible output be it academics, sports, corporate competitions or socio-cultural activities. We always try to be the front runners. So, these are some of the many reasons for me falling in love with my unique campus.
Which Aditya Birla Company I would like to work for?
I would like to work with Aditya Birla Retail Limited. Company entered into retail segment in 2007 and it has grabbed fourth position among the supermarket chains in India in such a short duration. So, the strategy of the company in the coming years will certainly be focused on leading the market. For the last few years, even if the company did not show monetary benefits, it has achieved success in
gaining customer's trust because of its adherence to its values. I want to contribute to its success in the coming years by working hard with the best minds to overcome challenges and make stronger comeback.
