Part A : Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?
Aditya Birla Group (ABG) is an Indian Multinational Conglomerate which is spread over 34 countries and has approximately 120000 employees working under it. This fortune 500 company has touched the lives of millions of people across the world through its wide range of products and services. It is a very big part of my life as since childhood we have been seeing its product. I remember very clearly the usage of Birla cement during the construction of my house back in year 2000. As I grew older the needs for different products were well satisfied with the various services of Birla Group. From the mobile Sim Card i.e. Vodafone to the payment apps, its products are in great use. It has acquired pantaloons, which is a people’s favourite outlet for shopping, and other brands such as People, Peter England under it. These outlets have brought fashion revolution where different brands are put under a single umbrella which provides leverage to the customers to buy clothes of different brands in a single showroom without any hassle and at a reasonable price. I personally feel it’s a great place to shop. It has diversified its business in other sectors also such as Telecom, Carbon black. Another very common product of this group is freshwrap that almost every household kitchen uses.
Other than this, the ABG group has focussed on health-care, education, social reforms which has brought change in life of millions. The Corporate Social Responsibility investment of ABG exceeds 500 crores. If we overall see, the ABG has immense contribution in my life and I strongly believe this group has impacted the lives of millions of people across the globe.
Part B : How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far
My journey till date has been quite challenging and full of struggles. Being born in a lower middle class family in itself involves a lot of struggle in every phase of life. But I consider myself lucky enough not to be deprived of the basic amenities of life. The major struggle in my life started after I completed my Matriculation and moved to Kota to aspire for competitive examinations. My journey of failures started here. It was a very immature decision which I took and I failed disastrously. It had shaken me from inside and made me very unconfident and hopeless. The biggest challenge for me now, was to recover from this failure and get back my confidence level. After this I failed numerous times but never lost the rigour and desire to achieve something big.
I consider myself a bit unlucky as even after putting lot of efforts, I never got what I deserved, be it in studies or in personal life. I just had the faith that maybe it’s not “My Time” now and the situation will change sometime in future. After completing my graduation, I started working in an MNC but I was not yet satisfied and the desire to achieve something big and overcome the guilt or regret of the early stage of my life kept me intrigued. In spite of hectic office hours, I took out time to study and improve my interpersonal skills to crack interviews. It is said that fortune favours the brave and so was very true in my case. Finally I tasted success when I got through in an IIM. It was truly a roller coaster ride for me. The journey was quite beautiful which taught me the notion “survival of the good enough”. It evolved me as a person who is now capable to deal with any kind of tough situation in life and knows to bounce back after failures.
