How Aditya Birla Group is big in my life!!!!, IIM Raipur

Aditya Birla Group (ABG), whose origin lies in 1857, almost a century before Country’s independence from colonial rule. Since then, numerous businesses have been setup in different industries, which were brought together under the umbrella of Aditya Birla Group. Starting from Aluminium rolling which everyone of us knows as “Freshwrapp” aluminium foil, a product by Hindalco industries of ABG, which played a very important role in my life. From food taken to school during the childhood days to food taken for night-outs during college days. I have always used formals of Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen and Peter England during my bachelors, office days and in MBA. All these fancy names, have been individual organisations for me, until I was surprised knowing during my Bachelors, that, all of them are owned by Aditya Birla group. Whenever we talk about cement, one brand always come to our mind, Ultratech Cement, which has been branded as the Engineer’s choice. It is Indian cement company by ABG which has been a cement supplier for numerous national infrastructure projects most famous being the Bandra-Worli Sea link in Mumbai. Talking about the TV ad “What an Idea sir ji” we all can remember, Idea cellular, a telecom arm of ABG, now merged with Vodafone, thus creating India’s largest telecom company. Interestingly, over 50 percent of ABG revenues flow from its overseas operations which spans in 34 countries. Aditya Birla Capital Ltd, is among the top fund managers in India with an aggregate AUM of over ₹2000 billion. All these businesses of ABG will help it to become a premium global conglomerate with a clear focus on each business in different sectors – metals, textiles, carbon black, telecom and cement.

How I overcame challenges to achieve ambitions in life.

  ― Thomas A. Edison We all face difficult challenges in all parts of our life. Whether we are in class 2^nd, Class 10^th, bachelors, masters, in job or retired. We all face difficulties some of which are extremely tough to overcome. Going against all odds, is something we are capable of doing. Infact few situations which are difficult for us, might be very easy going for others. This shows that, we can overcome any challenges and we need to have “never quit” attitude in life. What I Do, when I fail is to go deep into the problem and look it from scratch. 1st of all, we need to know the root cause of the problem or challenges we are facing. I developed this attitude during my job days. I am a software engineer and biggest nightmare for a developer is a bug in thousands of lines of code which is not written by you completely. So, what we do is, debug the code line by line and get to the bug and solve it. Same thing I apply in my life, break the problem and look for the solutions. I believe failure is key part of goal achievement. What it requires is just mental shift in thinking. I always stay calm and cool headed in problematic situation. Moreover, I always follow never give up attitude. It’s how many times you get up in life that matters. Also, I keep on learning with the failure and try to implement these learning to overcome these challenges. Also, I have role models, all successful persons who have failed many times or faced lot of challenges in their life, like Sachin Tendulkar. This helps me motivating myself whenever I am in any difficult situation. Hence, by staying positive, by never give-up attitude and by motivating myself constantly I overcome my challenges to achieve my goals.  #iimraipur #ABGLPWooMe
