I was with you, told "Aditya Birla Group"
I am with you, told "Aditya Birla Group"
I will be with you, told "Aditya Birla Group". How a nerdy, shy, potential leader rose from a deep darkness into a world of beautiful colours where he has all the guts to articulate himself in front of anyone. "Never turn your head and just stare at the books you hold in your hand, mug up the content, reflect the same in your exams, " shouted a voice when the tender mind of mine dreamt of innovation.
"No games, No extra-curricular activities, No social grooming, just exam grades matter probably," thought the conscious mind of mine.
This was at the high school age of mine.
"Congratulations on being the school topper," lauded my principal flaunting me proudly on the school party day.
"Wow, it couldn't get any better," my brain wondered.
Entered my graduation level with my chin up, after performing a decent level of good job in my intermediate education(boys hostel), thinking that it would be the same.
"An educational institute, is a place where we are to mug up things and vomit it to come with 90+ %," warned my brain repeatedly.
Enter the heroes or probably villains
"Presentations, Group Discussions, Public speaking, Inter personal skills, Talking to opposite gender, and the boss of all "Mr.StageFear."
Fumblings, boos, failures, unable to express myself freely, heart thumpings whenever there was a teammate of opposite gender.
No one told me how to overcome it, whereas my peers who were well groomed performed exceptionally well, which further led to disappointments.
Managed the undergraduate and entered my professional career, where I met my friends, so called gurus.
"Ram, you should not be like that, you should express yourself freely, no one is a superhero, the world doesn't owe you anything, Fight for what you want, No inhibitions, no fear, Stand Up! Fight ! Fail ! It's ok ! But don't repeat the mistake! Wake up! It's never too late !" said my office colleagues, mentors, gurus.
I always have the spark in me, I know that.
Slowly, I made the baby moves like a fawn newly born fumbling, participated in the group activities, mingled with people, talked to the opposite gender to overcome fear, I opened up freely.
The world started seeing me, considering me, liking me, respecting me. I felt good. Improved. I further improved.
Now I am unstoppable, I always want to do things which make me tremble, I want to fail, I want to fail big rather than lying in dust protectively.
Now I started spreading my wings to my teammates and other teams too, started helping them, eliminating the fear in them.
I conducted public speaking events at my workplace. As a part of CSR, in my company, I attended the schools to reach out the young adults, describing them how important "marketing" themselves is, how important is expressing one's thoughts is for them. I encouraged them, gave group activities. They loved me back, waited for me to come and help them.                                                                             Currently I am a student at IIFT, Delhi. My college is giving me ample opportunities to upgrade myself even further.
This was my challenge and how I overcame : How a nerdy, shy, potential leader rose from a deep darkness into a world of beautiful colours where I can have all the guts to articulate what is in my mind in front of anyone.
