The group had a revenue of approximately US$44.3 billion in year 2018. ABG touches millions in the world, It is unlikely that you have never used a product, or traveled on a road or visited a site where ABG has not contributed in some way. Its presence in your life is massive.
It started back in 1857 in the tiny village of Pilani, Rajasthan, when Seth Shiv Narayan Birla ventured into cotton trading. Today, the Group is a leading player in aluminium, cement manufacturing, viscose staple fibre, carbon black, chemicals, copper, financial services, telecom, branded apparels, fertilisers, viscose staple yarn and insulators.
My personal experience with the brand is with fashion, cement and telecom. In house brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England and People use high quality fabric with perfect fit and fresh designs also the fabric they use are 100% natural and eco friendly. India’s largest cement company, Ultratech cement is a high quality product guaranteeing stable and durable infrastructure.
Apart from delivering top notch products and working with integrity, ABG also believes in giving back to the society to build a better, sustainable way of life for the weaker sections through mid day meals, skill training, providing solar lamps, running medical camps and hospitals and thus making a difference.
Part B
I was brought up in a strict family. My parents used to argue and fight even for petty issues, They used to love me but because of the arguments I developed an introverted personality. I never bothered to express myself and used to live in my own world which made me a creative person. I started letting out creativity inside me in the form of sketching.
I left home at 17 to study at a college in another city. Moving away from home has totally broadened my outlook on the world and has changed my opinion on lots of issues. Over the past few years I've met the most amazing people with the most extraordinarily diverse experiences. My circle of friends includes people with different religions, beliefs, values, cultures and different ways of approaching life. But the great thing is we respect each other's opinions. My introverted personality slowly started to change, I've learnt to question what I've been taught and not always agree just because that is what "everybody else" thinks. To overcome the fear that my childhood left, I started making efforts. I started explaining my parents why I need to do join a particular club or committee because of which getting along with my parents became a lot more easier.
I still have an introverted personality, I enjoy solitude, I sketch but I also spend my time with others, join new clubs and interact with new people. These days whenever I think of my past, I see myself as a frog in the well, just by having a broader perspective in life all my problems got solved.
