Hi! I am Raghav Gandotra and I will be sharing my Interview Experience with one of the best B-Schools in the world, Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management – IIT Bombay.
CAT 2020 was my first attempt and I got 98.05 percentile. I was fortunate enough that I made it to the personal interview round. I started preparation for the interview and explored more about the college, its culture, clubs, events, and the rigorous curriculum it follows. From the beginning, we were assigned individual mentors and this allowed us to prepare in a more focused manner. We were given a good amount of time to prepare and there was constant support from the Adcom Team.
Due to covid-19, the interview process was online. Initially, I was scared about it but the Adcom Team of SJMSOM – IIT Bombay came up with an innovative process, creating the virtual experience as close as possible to the offline experience. They developed an amazing interface using Gather App to re-create the offline experiences of the interview process. It was full of fun, just like a gaming interface, where we had a virtual Auditorium, Document Verification Room, and Interview Rooms. There were groups of 6-7 members with one mentor per group who guided us till the end of our interview. I still remember how I got disconnected from the process when my turn came, I thought that it might be the end of my interview. But the mentor called me and asked me to take the time to sort issues and don’t panic. That gesture made my day and finally, I gave the interview and those 15 minutes were amazing. The panel members were very cool, they ensured the interview is more of a conversation. The interview process was the smoothest of all the other interviews I had.
Finally, on 22nd June 2021, I got selected for the MBA Batch 2021-23 at SJMSoM – IIT Bombay. The feeling is surreal and I am super excited to start this journey, explore and learn about new things, making new friends, and make the most of these 2 years.
