I have always been someone who is extremely hardworking, sincere and dedicated and who does not compromise on her academics no matter what. Growing up, I always gave preference to my studies and maintained a consistent academic record throughout my school and college career. During my final year B.Tech placements, I couldn't crack the aptitude rounds to make it through any company selection process. For someone who had never seen failure, this stung right through my heart. All throughout my graduation I had worked extremely hard and not getting that dream job offer you had been wanting for so long just broke me apart. What's next? Obviously, sitting and crying was not an option. My initial plans consisted of getting a work experience for a few years and then heading towards my MBA. Since plan A was a major fail, I decided to move on to plan B.
First step was to brush up and enhance my aptitude. I joined coaching classes and dedicated my entire time to working on myself and better my skills. During this stage, I was staying alone as all my friends had left college. Loneliness struck me. Due to being completely alone, my mental health was getting affected and as a result I was losing out on my focus. There have been times I wanted to just give up and go back home, to my shell. Every time I felt weak or like giving up, I used to watch motivational talks on YouTube or read success stories and most of all, used to remind myself why I started in the first place and what I aimed for in life and that nothing was greater than that.
It took a lot of fighting within myself, with the surroundings and the situations to get where I am today. To the world, my struggles might sound petty and trivial but it was a collection of all those small difficulties which taught me about the bigger picture of life. Not only did I learn to handle and tackle failure but I also realized the importance of each and every thing in life and started appreciating and being grateful towards everything. I also learn that for a successful career it is not just academics which play an important role. Fitting into the corporate world requires you to have an overall personality development and a great positive attitude towards everything you do.
