Life keeps throwing numerous challenges. Just as we develop our physical muscles through overcoming opposition - such as lifting weights - we develop our character muscles by overcoming these challenges. It wouldn't be wrong to say that a life without challenges is almost impossible to exist.
The important aspect here is not about the challenges but rather it is about the ability to tackle these challenges and reach pinnacle of success in the longer run.
I am no stranger when it comes to being exposed to challenges. Life always had plenty of it in reserve for me. Each time one was shot upon me, I tackled it. My recent challenge pertained to decision making.
I was employed for more than three years already. I had decided to take a break and get back to academics to peruse full time MBA. Though i have summed it up in a simple statement, it wasn't an easy decision to make. The process was really challenging. Managing time for entrance exam preparation was the first hurdle. It soon followed up various hurdles such as tight project deadlines, sleepless nights & split focus. But I was determined to secure my future in a reputed school. Hence, I applied full concentration in order to succeed, despite executing my routines at the office on a daily basis.
Had to kill my leisure time post work to prepare consistently. Had to shed all other weekend plans and spend the day at coaching centers.
For this, I designed a framework so that I can manage time efficiently. I kept challenging my own standards. Solved questions in tea breaks, discussed topics with team mates in the elevator, murmured formulas during power naps. I did all of it without dropping down my potential in carrying out my professional work. This indeed was battle won for me.
As i said earlier, I tackled the challenge thrown at me. I successfully completed my project before it called it a quit. Oh yes, i cleared my entrance exam and bagged a seat at prestigious NMIMS.
Determination and focus was key to my success.
