The LR section is generally a game-changer as no one is at the edge relative to the rest, whether they are engineers or non-engineers. It depends solely on how you perform. The LR section of SNAP 2020 will comprise 25 questions out of a total of 60 questions. This clearly indicates the importance of this section which can act as a deciding factor in your percentile. Now the major question that comes is, how should you prepare for LR as there is no definite syllabus for this section of SNAP. So, let us get on to the preparation strategy.
The first thing to do is to target questions depending on your comfort zone. If you're at some stage of preparation, right now the first thing will be to give a mock. Please solve as many problems as you can. Around the same time, don't leap to answers if you don't know. Only try to drive yourself as much as you can. And really necessary, don't be disappointed if you can't solve it. This exercise is only to check where the preparation is required.
Now you know, in which area you need some more preparation. The next step would be to go to the basics. Refer to any material to learn the basic concepts. Remember, keeping your basics strong is the key! Try to learn the different methods from faculty or friends. Even if you are able to solve a question, check the solution to see if it has a better method. You need to be as fast as you can, on D-day. So, keep hunting for the best possible solution in the least time and improve your strategy.
Once you are well-versed with the basics. The next step is to move to the next level i.e. a tough one. Start taking topic and sectional tests. These tests have a timer on your head, so now you have to perform the same or even better in the pressured environment. This will help you create an environment as close to your day of examination. We would also suggest you maintain a formula aka mistake book for all your shortcuts and the questions where you used to make mistakes.
The important phase would be to take as many full-length mocks as possible in the last 15 days. Why? Because it will help you to understand the different types of questions and will help you formulate your own strategy. So, now see how do you perform. Maximize the target to solve as many questions but avoid wasting time on the difficult ones.
Always consider an exam as a basic classroom session. Never take any particular section or a question on your ego (Like, LR is my forte and I’ll solve it no matter what it takes). Remember, that the duration of the examination is 60 minutes. Spending too much time on a particular section can ruin your day. Though SNAP provides you with an opportunity to make another attempt, it is advisable to give your best shot in every attempt, so as to increase your chances of scoring very high percentile and getting a call for further process.
