Exchange Program at MDI Gurgaon
MDI boasts of one of the best student exchange program in the country and offers a unique opportunity for its students to immerse themselves in a new academic and social culture for one trimester. MDI Gurgaon has a staggering 40 acres of lush green campus in the very heart of corporate hub of India, Gurgaon. The library of MDI Gurgaon has a collection of around 50,000 books while the online library portal gives access to more than 15,000 e-journals. Apart from that, there are academic clubs like Marquity, HRD, Monetrix, Strategist, Opsession, and activity clubs like Sanskriti and Samaritans. Apart from that, students often assemble to carry out their interests through the numerous Student Interest Groups. There are also event clubs like Imperium, Delphique and Illumina which conducts corporate talks and interesting activities at different times of the year.
While Delphique strives to collaborate with various leading companies for knowledge partnership across management verticals, Illumina conducts Market Research Fair around Diwali offers organizations an opportunity to conduct extensive marketing research through the thousands of consumers who visit this fair annually.
Festivals at MDI Gurgaon
Is there any festival that is not celebrated at MDI? I don’t think so! Diwali, Dussehra, Holi, Onam, Lohri, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Saraswati Pooja – you name it and you will find the MDI community gather at one place to celebrate the festivities. Apart from all these, students always stay excited for the Soul Kitchen nights held during the winter months wherein bonfires and jamming sessions are held for hours together making it a truly enriching experience.
Placements
Placements and BSchool life go hand in hand and it goes without saying, placements do play a significant role in the life of any BSchool graduate. MDI Gurgaon’s placement record has been stellar over the years and has only improved. As of 2019, with 299 students, the average stipend was 2.31 Lakhs and the highest stipend stood at 3.2 Lakhs. MDI Gurgaon saw 85 companies participating in the summer placement process offering coveted roles across various domains. Talking about the final placement for the year 2020, the average salary stood at 22.05 Lakhs and the highest salary offered was 40.5 Lakhs. The final placements saw 126 companies participating in the placement process.
Beyond Placements
While placements are a part and parcel of BSchool life, there are opportunities to industry exposure beyond summer internships at MDI Gurgaon. Students are conferred with several live projects in the field of HR, marketing, finance and work with industry mentors on solving real-time business issues. These projects are a great opportunity for students to show their calibre, skillset and develop intellectual capital in a practical manner. The live projects are directly supervised by a faculty member who advises students on how to do the projects in an even better way. In the past few years, students have worked on numerous live projects from companies like Reckitt Benckiser, Tech Mahindra, Tupperware, KFC, HUL, Decathlon, McKinsey Consulting, Deloitte, Swiggy and Ogilvy among others.
