Often, there’s a dilemma in GMAT aspirants regarding ‘What is the best time to write the GMAT Exam’ or ‘How to choose GMAT exam dates?’ In this post, we will answer all. GMAT Exam is conducted round the year, so you have full liberty to choose any date. The test centres, which are to be selected by candidates, shares a yearly calendar of the available GMAT exam dates. Hence the examinee can choose his/her test centre and the date as well.

GMAT Exam Dates

As most of the aspirants of GMAT are working professionals and have time constraints, so for their convenience, GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) do not levy any last date criteria. One can register and appear for GMAT exam at any time throughout the year. Candidates around the globe can do their GMAT exam dates registrations from anywhere. There is no such difference in scheduling online and scheduling by calling GMAT customer service, though mostly 95% of registrations are made on mba.com each year. Before GMAT registrations, you need to prioritise your B-schools where you want to take admission to pursue MBA program. This will give you a fair idea about their admission dates and procedure. For example, if one want to take admission in Indian School of Business (ISB), which is one of the most prestigious B-school in India, then note down that it follows two admission cycle:
Cycle 1 Cycle 2
Application Deadline October 15, 2016 January 15, 2017
Offer Decision-1 November 10, 2016 February 10, 2017
Offer Decision-2 December 05, 2016 March 05, 2017
Acceptance Date 10 days from the date of the offer
  So, accordingly, you can choose your dates from anywhere between 2-3 months prior to ISB’s admission dates. But trying to book a date 30 days prior to the exam is not a good idea as Pearson VUE and GMAC are responsible for taking bookings from all around the world. Aspirants tend to schedule between 30 and 60 days in advance of their test date and prefer a Saturday and Sunday for the GMAT Exam. Now you know, why and when to select a date in advance. Anyhow, before the exam, you’ll be tensed for the exam, you don’t want to bear all this mess. So start planning early, like 2-3 months prior. Choose your desired institute, check out their admission dates, select your GMAT Exam Dates, select at what you want to start the registration process. In case, you want to reschedule your GMAT exam, then rescheduling fees will be levied by GMAC, which you don’t want.
