When I am frequently asked about my percentile in Verbal Ability-Reading Comprehension in CAT by most of the colleagues and peers who are aspiring to appear for CAT, I start the conversation by asking them the question "How much time you allocate for reading in a day?"
Though it is very basic, one must remember that the CAT examination is about balancing every section, Since the test starts with the VA-RC section. It is very essential that the VA-RC section is done with proper strategy as it is going to set the pace for other sections of the test on the D-day.
Here are the 3 easy steps to follow that I incorporated in my preparation for VA-RC and Scored 98.9%ile.
1)Daily Reading - Allocate time for reading even if it is as less as 15-20 minutes. Developing this habit would familiarize you with the context of the lines on which you can strategize for the Reading -Comprehension part which consists of 24 questions out of 34 total questions in the VA-RC section.
2)Diversified Reading- Not just reading but reading different genres to increase the understanding of different concepts that are asked in CAT. The following are the links of the blogs and sources one must go through for reading quality content on different genres.

3)Practice makes a man perfect-Attempting Mock test is one thing and analyzing them is other. So one must focus on working the mistakes committed during the previous test and try to understand the logic behind the right solution and start tailoring your thinking in that manner.
4)Following the Trends - As we are always updated with all the twitter trends we should also be updated with the previous trends of the CAT Examination. Though CAT is a very unpredictable exam but knowing the trends can any day be better than being oblivious to it. Attempting similar kinds of RC one can get an overview of how one must strategize for the test?
