I have seen the way to heaven from outside world and that heaven is IIM Indore campus. IIM Indore has the biggest infrastructure among IIMs in India. I bet you, once a person visits the campus he will surely fell for the beauty. Starting from the main gate, it is designed elegantly which ensures there is something worth waiting for you inside the campus. Huge campus of around 200 acres which we prefer to call “Planet-I”. It is because one can see two sides of the world from behind the walls fencing the campus. IIM Indore is known for its diversity. But it is not limited to diversity amongst batches of students, one can spot rare species of animals and birds within the campus. If you take a morning or evening walk, you can spot these animals and birds easily. The atmosphere is so pleasant that one can relax easily forgetting all worries. We believe every animal has equal rights on planet-I, so why can’t the dogs? Institute has done separate arrangements for dogs within the campus. This move from the Institute is laudable keeping in mind love of animal lovers.
With efforts of the student body and institute management, all day to day requirements can be fulfilled easily within the campus. Handling such a huge batch is itself an achievement for the management. IIM Indore started 5 years course, Integrated Program in Management for students completing XIIth. It has turned out to be a huge success for IIM Indore. All these are creative and fresh minds which join PGP batch in their 4th year and even PGPs can learn a lot of things from them. Academic courses also ensure social involvement by working with MP government which hands over projects to PGP students. IIM Indore has “Rural Immersion Program” which contributes to the society by sending students across districts of M.P. Students identify problems within the village and recommend a solution.
Managing such a huge infrastructure is not so easy. Institute is serious about the cleanliness of the campus. Institute has an effective waste management system. Everyone inside the campus is easily approachable, even the director of the Institute. Institute is involved in a lot of social initiatives. The student body has “Pragati” club which deals with social work. Also during cultural festivals school children visit the campus and students arrange a fun activity for them. Planet-I has taken care of not just about future managers but also of every stakeholder who is an integral part of it.
Which ABG company would I want to work for? Why?
I would like to work with Aditya Birla Fashion and retail. It has a great future ahead in India. The company wants to continue to keep fashion & offline retail as its main business model. Trying to scale fashion brands already there in its portfolio as well as acquire new brand licenses to sell in India. Besides, slowly venturing into other fashion categories that it is not already ventured - ex: watches, innerwear as well as new customer segments. It’s Values completely relate to work culture. Values are Integrity, Seamlessness, Passion, and Commitment & Speed. They have speed in every action which never divulges from given commitment.
