Having schooled at Sarala Birla Academy, Bangalore – an international residential school, I have had the golden opportunity of interacting with Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla at a very young age. As children, we were extremely anxious and excited about getting to meet a leader of his stature. However, all our anxiety just washed away the moment we met him. He was extremely kind and humble. He was considerate and caring. He was nothing like the corporate leaders we were used to seeing on television as children.
It was that day that I realized that humility is the true mark of greatness.
11 years down the line, when I was sitting in my classroom on the first day at IIM-Udaipur, I was constantly thinking about the level of competition around. With CAs, CFAs, and IITians as part of the batch, getting a bit overwhelmed was natural.
However, it was in one of the classes of Financial Accounting, when I witnessed this sight of a 21-year old fresher lady teaching concepts to another 29-year-old IITian man with years of work experience. The humility and love for learning which I saw in the man was truly remarkable. It reminded me of the meet with Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla ages ago.
Slowly, over the period of my stay here, I further experienced this open-minded attitude, zeal for continuous development and hunger for excellence in the whole of the student body here. The humility of these brilliant minds here on campus makes learning a truly enjoyable experience.
Mutual Respect and Inclusion are not merely some fancy words mentioned under
values on the brochure of the Institute. They are the codes by which we live here. We celebrate diversity and are open to varied perspectives. Transparency in the system is extremely conducive to bringing out the best in each.

Being a marketing enthusiast, I would like to channelize my love for healthy living and good clothes towards the growth of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) and Aditya Birla Retail Limited.
Apart from getting an opportunity to work with wonderful brands, it is the core values of the Aditya Birla Group – the "Power of Five" that I strongly connect to. It would be a thrilling experience to serve my alma mater's parent body.
