My life has been a series of inspirations. My parents, my friends, my books and my experiences have all chiseled a path for me that I believe has led me to who I am today. My foray into taking up multifaceted roles since childhood made me comfortable with challenges enabling me to shed my apprehensions to uncertainty. Being an extroverted child since the beginning, the stage was always a dream. I always had a predilection towards public speaking but was not articulate enough for Just-a-minute competitions, extempore and impromptu debates. But that is also exactly what I always wanted to do. I took it in my stride to give it a shot and give it all it takes till I am convinced with my performance. I started participating in school level debates and public speaking events, took up class responsibilities from the teachers and often acted as their representative to distribute information in various classes, enrolled myself for various inter-school competitions and much more. It was a long struggle but, a total of 23 public speeches and 10 debate competitions later, I finally got the chance to participate in the state’s biggest public speaking competition. The opportunity of my dreams was knocking and now all I had to do was rush to the door and hold it with both my hands. I portrayed an attitude of never giving up and coming back stronger from my defeats, throughout my journey and with that confidence, eventually won the competition. More than the trophy, the standing ovation of the audience is what validated my struggle and made me believe that all it takes is unchallenged determination and grit to achieve your goals and ambitions in life. One may either be the result of their fears, or the result of their courage. Today, I can proudly say that I am the latter.
