Part A ” Wake up! You are going to miss your class”, with a familiar voice, resonates the corridor waking everyone up. We hastily pick everything up, rushing through the morning fog towards our classes. This was the feeling I remember during my college days at BITS Pilani. The Pilani campus was statuesque, garnering the cream of the minds to grow into future leaders. This was the dream of G.D. Birla, the founder of BITS Pilani (1929). The process of an endowment, of how this family and its culture has imbibed a connection within me. The roots grew, and the tree held itself strong like the sun steering its way into the dawn of the day.
The Birla family was there to shoulder me into the professional world. I may not remember how it was before. However, I know how it turned out to be.
I remember my father opting for an insurance policy for me, my first one, Birla sun life insurance. He paved a path for me towards success in my initial days. We used to stay near Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh) which is famous for two things, the coal mines and Hindalco. Hindalco Industries Ltd., an aluminium and copper manufacturing company, is a subsidiary of the Aditya Birla Group. I got a chance to visit the industry and meet the team that runs the plant. The passionate and dedicated group of professionals, the essential building block of the industry was always there to help me out with the necessary knowledge. I became a better professional in terms of technical knowledge, ready to enter the challenging world. My fashion needs were not very placed earlier, and I got some insights into it through word of mouth. Eventually, I explored and found how varied Pantaloons and Allen Solly were. I got my first business suit from Allen Solly, which I wore to my interview in NMIMS. I consider it lucky, and you know why! Part B I used to work in a Fortune 500 company, pushing my boundaries and limits, to achieve greatness and some value worth sharing. The days used to be very hectic, and the job was very demanding, and the team was numbered to get jobs done within stipulated time standards. Our main objective was to provide dedicated results when demanded by the superior authorities. It was very demanding and dangerous to health. However, the company had a perfect sense of safety for us. The insufficiency of my crucial knowledge of understanding of running a business on proper tracks was rallied upon. I felt the need of developing my skills to gain better insight and the option of obtaining an MBA degree was the best way to do so. The very hectic schedule of my job used to be 12 hours long and sometimes would push up to 16 hours. With no energy and no time left for myself in a day, I pushed myself to limits to study for entrance exams, prepare for interviews, or even eat or sleep. It was a challenge every day to manage things, balancing sleep, food, and studies. The physical, emotional, and psychological stress was enormous and would take a toll on my health. I lost a lot, my sleep, health, confidence, self-motivation but gained something beautiful. I took on this challenge and believed in the notion of not losing hope and working forward every day. I still would like to state that it was an amazing ride, learned the actual importance of time management, self worth and understood the most important piece by confucius, “Life is indeed simple, we tend to make it complicated”. And the answer is simple, it is not hardwork, it is smartwork. #NMIMSMumbai  #ABGLPWooMe
