International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st June 2021, and this year’s theme was 'Yoga For Wellness'. The prime focus is on practicing yoga for physical and mental well-being. The motto is aligned well with the current world scenario. Prime Minister Narendra Modi first introduced the proposal to observe the International Day of Yoga during the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly opening address. The day aims to raise awareness around the various benefits of practicing Yoga worldwide.   IIM Bodh Gaya celebrated this day with much fervor and conducted a virtual yoga session. Vinita Sahay, the Director of the institute, also graced the occasion. The session was conducted by Dr. Purnima Kumari, BPT, MPT(Ortho), Assistant Professor DPT, Magadh University. It was hosted from the institute’s Auditorium for faculty and online on google meet for students. It was a refreshing and energy-boosting activity for the students. It also marked the first day of the academic session for the second-year students after their two-month summer internship hiatus.
