Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIMBG) recently organized its annual cultural and sports fest, ELEGANTE 7.0, bringing together various institutes from across the nation in a three-day celebration of talent and camaraderie.

The festivities kicked off on January 26, with a morning Republic Day celebration that included the solemn hoisting of the national flag and singing of the national anthem. The day unfolded with the inauguration of the newly built sports stadium, where the various sports teams were introduced. Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, the Director of IIM Bodh Gaya addressed the gathering, emphasizing the need for leaders beyond designations.

The Hon'ble Chief Guest, Lieutenant PS Minhas, Commandant, OTA, Bodh Gaya, shared insights during his address and declared the annual fest open. The fest began with a vibrant cultural program followed by a friendly cricket match between the team of Professors and students of IIM Bodh Gaya and the team from OTA, led by Lt Minhas. The day saw various sports activities, and concluded with a bonfire and jamming session in the evening.

On January 27, the complete focus shifted to sports events starting in the morning. Dr. Sreelekha Mishra, chairperson of Student Affairs, and Dr. Amresh Kumar, chairperson of the sports committee, were some of the chief organizers of the event.

The day included the NAVYATA fashion show, where Indian Institute of Design and Technology (IDT), Muzaffarpur, Bihar, and IIM Bodh Gaya participated. The evening witnessed students enjoying the performances of celebrities Aseem Sharma, singer and songwriter, and Tattva, the Delhi based musical band.

On this day, IIM Bodh Gaya, led by the CSR committee Pragati, also initiated 'Happy Periods' to promote menstrual hygiene. The team, including faculty Dr. Johnson Abhishek Minz and Dr. Suman Choudhary, educated students at Kendriya Vidyalaya OTA and D.A.V. Public School, distributing free sanitary pads sponsored by Niine. The impact event highlighted IIM Bodh Gaya’s commitment to community welfare.

January 28 saw the continuation of events with a quiz, a solo singing competition, and a solo dance competition. Creative Dance Academy, Patna, Bihar, and IIM Bodh Gaya showcased their talents in solo and group performances. The sports prize distribution ceremony, featuring the Hon'ble Director and guests, acknowledged the achievements in cricket, football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, chess, and volleyball. The cultural prize distribution concluded the fest.

While noteworthy participation came from institutes such as NIT Patna, IIM Ranchi, St. Xavier’s, Patna, AIMK, Kolkata, IDT, Muzaffarpur, and NSIT, ELEGANTE 7.0 served as a platform for cultural exchange and sporting spirit. It exemplified the essence of a diverse and inclusive celebration.
