IIM Calcutta, one of the premier B-schools in the country is conducting a TEDx event, packed with eminent speakers from all walks of life. The event is scheduled to be held virtually on 9th Jan, 21.
While 2020 was challenging, this year’s theme for the TEDx event, “A New Hope”, promises to shift the focus to a brighter future.
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design and the speakers who represent a diverse background will bring a fresh perspective to contemporary issues that require our immediate attention.
On one hand, from the science and technology field, there’s going to be Puneet Chandok, a former partner at Mckinsey and current President, AWS India, and South Asia along with P. Kunhikrishnan, a distinguished space scientist and Director at U.R.Rao Satellite Centre, Bangalore. Another esteemed speaker at the event will be Ankit Jain, a Tech Entrepreneur from MIT Sloan School of Management and co-founder Ola Electric will provide his insights into the future of electric mobility.
The event will also host Dr. Rohini Srivathsa, National Technology Officer, Microsoft, and Dr. Rukmini Banerjee, CEO, Pratham Education Foundation, and a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. These leaders are sure to inspire with their own experiences that have been driven by fulfilling a larger purpose towards their community.
Other well-renowned speakers in the event include Arjun Balaji, co-founder, Gourmet Garden and an alumnus of IIM Lucknow; Chitranshu, Product and Growth Lead at Newslaundry and recipient of World Youth Summit Award, United Nations GAID who will share his experience in digital journalism to inspire the audience at the event.
Rounding off this illustrious list are Dr. Leena Chatterjee, a distinguished Professor of Organizational Behavior and Psychology at IIM Calcutta and Karthikeyan Balakumar, founder of PetPals, IIM Calcutta, a nonprofit community dedicated to ensuring the well-being of many pets in and around the campus, a model now being followed in other colleges as well.
